Thread: Question about key mapping(yes I searched)

Is there anyway to map a command with out Having the macro in your toolbars.
For example I want to use keys to cycle through the tool bar panes without having to press control +F2 ect.
I also want to be able to acces the bottom layer of the tool without having to press shift
So far I can only get it to work if I map the macro that is in a toolbar slot
I want to use this to save toolbar slots for simple action such as burst run stand kneel ect
I'd really like to be able to use the 1-9 keys aswell as the Q-P keys
But that seams to not work because they are always used in chat
any ideas
Help would be much appreciated my head hurts as I've been reading thread after thread about more advanced macros of switching weapons and tool bar panes simutaneously ect

I don't have the answer to your question, but I have a question.
If you used the q-p keys for various commands, how would you type anything without activating those commands?

Yeah that is kind of the question I was asking
Im not sure if its possible at all, but that make mapping very limited
Keys used to chat should only be activated when the curser is in chat box , but it is always in there. You should have to click to put it in. That way you'd have alot of ways to map keys
What I read didnt say much to mapping stuff to specific keys with out being in tool bar.

EQ style .. you can type AFTER pressing Enter

Okay, I hope I understand what you're saying. If you want a macro bound to a key, just go to the Control tab on the Options window, click on Keymap, and find the tab there that says Custom and there will be all the macros you have, just double click on one and bind it to a key. Also, it sounds like what you want turned on is Modal Chat mode(pressing enter to chat), that is also under the Keymap section.

I use my whole num pad for custom macro's. I didn't find any use for any of the camera stuff. Also the insert, home paged up and the keys under thouse are a good place for macros.

One more question , is there a command for equiping armor. I know how to place it in my slots and macro it that way , but I'm trying to save as much space as possible

Pseudo code.
Put your armorpiecesin one of your toolbars and then run a macro that takes you to that toolbar and then it runs thru each slot where you added each piece of armor. and preferably takes you back to the toolbar u use most of the time. bind this to a key pad preferably.
YouCAN set up one key-pad to change the toolbar to another.
set up a macro that says, go to this tool bar
then go to the keypad options and under you know, custom tab:
bind the prefrered key pad to that macro.
as they said before: use EQ style.
so while playing:
Press keypads to perform certain actions, that maybe macros or whatever.
press enter to start chat mode.
