Thread: BE and critical failures

I have an artisan who assembles av-21s for me. He's made alot for me, and out of 10, had one critical failure and lsot the powerplant. He picked up BE last night, and when he came to craft my av-21s, he had 3 critical failures in a row and lost all three powerplants. He said he's been having ALOT of critical failures since he picked up BE. He ended up dropping it because he said he cannot craft ANYTHING after getting it.

Is this common? Getting BE messes up your success rates? Because this costs me a fortune to loose 3 powerplants. I am going to great extremes to make sure these next ones are built right, I am looking for food that help and anything else.

Maybe he's keeping the PPs and lying to you about the failures.

I'd say have him craft in the least-laggy place and time possible. My gf is a master architect, and if she crafts during primetime (a lot of lag) she consistently crits - if she crafts early in the morning when there aren't a lot of people on, she hardly crits at all.

Its worth a shot.

SWG is a lot like the Nicotrol System.

With each patch, you're that much closer to quitting.

I do not experience what I believe to be high crit fail rates. Also: in a system involving random chance, strings of seemingly patterned results often come out. The human being tends to take this small sample and falsely draw corellation with some other incidental event and then draw causation between the two--thus, he or she thinks the incidental event caused the pattern in the random events.

I think if I hadn't just typed that, I'd be confused by it.

Three critical failures in a row is very unlikely. I know from past experience you can crit fail two times in a row, but to crit fail three times seems odd to me, especially when we are talking about something worth of value.

If you trust the person and had have no problems in the past with him, he must of just had bad luck.

I have done a lot of crafting, and have several times experienced three crit fails in a row. It has nothing to do with whatever skills you have, it has to do with the statistics. Statistically, you could fail twelve times in a row. Normally, this will not occur, because it is statistically so unusual to be virtually impossible to occur. But three crits, although very rare, is not unknown.

I usually quit playing for about 24 hours after it happens, though, and think quite seriously about cancelling all accounts, and going back to playing Diablo 2. I think that the program should simply not allow any more than one crit fail per 24 hours.

Personally, I think your crafter did not cheat you, and really did have the three crit fails in a row.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?
