I remember you used to be able to find these things way backin the 1st month or two of release- when killing a Dark Jedi NPC meanttons of loot. Many a Force Amp. Crystal dropped like that... Not sure how often (If any chance at all) current Force NPC's have of dropping one. Loot tables have changed alot...

Force Amplification Crystals once looked exactly like the pertrified avian egg.
Then they morpehed into the same format as all current crystals.
Still about as useful as NS crystals =/

I looted one of these off a DJM about 2 months ago, its pretty useless as far as I can see? It has not changed since the change in crystals?

Alot of Loot items are Rumored to have, i dont know how to say it, but like hidden skill mods in them almost
Like the "A Rare Artifact" is rumored to give you better luck when looting if you have one in your inventory.
If you are carrying a Corsec ID Badge, Corsec troopers Call you Detective
Rumor has it that nightsister or singing mountain clan force crystals are supposed to give you better luck in looting them (as far as items opposed to credits)
I have no idea if this is true, and totally forgot where i read this. it may be totally false and made up or thought up by someone at some point. The Corsec thing i can personally attest as to it working. The "a rare artifact", when i was hunting GDK's for scales a long time ago, i had looted one earlier that night from a force weilder on dantooine, killed 3 gdk's and got 3 scales (after 2 weeks of killing over 50 with no drop whatsoever), i had also gone to the woolamander POI and both woolamanders dropped bones, set of 3 and 5 (before poi's were broken). I have always carryed one in my inventory since and i cant really say i have gotten any incredible loots or anything but i seem more prone to loot an item rather than just credits. Plus all npc's drop some sort of credits now with a recent patch, so who knows how it affects this.
See like this stuff is great content for this game, stuff that is a total mystery that no one has figured out yet. Like items that just exist for seemingly no reason whatsoever other that just junk loot. Like There is a fencer weapon that exists ingame, that has never been "unlocked" or "figured out" yet, something to do with the bestine elections, i have never seen one on live in any server, no one knows how to get it whatsoever to my knowledge nor have the devs ever posted anything
More info here about that:

I carried around a rare artifact for ages, but noticed zero difference in my loots. What I have noticed, is that some days are just plain better loot days than others for me. Like, I'll get nothing after killing 10 or 15 NS spell weavers one day, and on another day, every single NS I kill seems to drop an item. Even though most of it is junk, they are dropping. I noticed a similar trend when I was a master smuggler. Some days just seemed like I could do no wrong. Others, the slices were aweful. I think the best explanation for most of these things is the suggestion I've seen that you get assigned a random number seed when you log in, a sort of "luck factor". The corsec badge is really neat though. I'll have to check that out =).

see like for a month i spent tons of money on rare loot and junk like random garbage that you loot trying to talk to different npc's and quest givers that never ever seem to talk to you (possibly broken all together) and see if i drag stuff onto them if they do anything. THe corsec thing was the best i came up with lol.
This is the closest thing i found to real quests and content in the game and apparently it doesnt exist cause ive honestly never read anywhere recently someone discovering something like "new" although the fencer weapon thing is still a mystery and no one has one on live apparently?
Ive also read about a rare look called a Black Metal Gaffi Stick, AP1 and sometimes decent damage. drop off observers and such. Its on the fencer forums
