Want to get a clear definition of what you ace pilots out there consider good dog fighting techniques and such. I have learned that 1 for a cool effect charge head on at your advesaries. You can get alot of damage on the target this way and they will var off and then when you have your speed decreased half way you can quickly counter and attack them from behind. Also another technique to use when fighting multiple hard targets is to whip around and use your [ or ] keys to select the reactor or engine and disable it. The reactor is best to go for because it will leave a small amount of energy in your enemies capacitor to discharge at you and then you can target the enemy weapons (only one high grade ships like gunboats, tyberian (aka lambda shuttle), YT-1300 transport shuttle and other ships). Want to see what you guys have picked up as neat space combat strategies and techniques as well as what weaponry is good and bad to use such as should you have 2 ships 1 for heavy pounding loaded with ultra hardware and 1 for fast combat or just 1 good ship?

i have two ships I used, actually 3. I store decent parts on one or flip flop them as needed. One ships an ox the others a dogfighter. When my 3rd isnt in use I use it to grind. Depending on the mission and/or support your with usually dictates what equipment your going to use. Try to keep your ship(s) as balanced as possible. If you got a small capacitor use your higher speed lower energy weapons, preferably with the same type of damage, is what i do (i.e. damagevs shields, vs armor; refire rate balance).

Also, once you finish certain missions you get free unlocks. Do as many as you can. Free is good, of course they get tougher along the way. Recruit other players if you can or need to.

And, sometimes you get space faction loots in addition to your free unlocks. Me, personally, I store them on my spare ship. Some of the stuff, namely the 92.2 speed engine is too good to grind with. Learn to fly before you bust up all your best stuff.
