Thread: Who else thinks this is a good idea????

After lookin around I was finding it really hard to find out about ALL the player events on my server as only a hand full are put on the site and sometimes the ones put on the site may not apeal to some people or thay may not be able to get to them! And I know theres more events going on than what is put up on the events calander so I think it would be a nice idea to have a way of posting and cheaking all events from IN-GAME, throw the holo of terminal outside of ALL guild halls?!?!? This way you can find one that you like the sound of and also get a waypoint put in to your datapad there and then, an other nice addition to this would be that when you save/opt to go to an event it will also set an alam for you so you don't forget, When you choose to join/partake in an event from the terminal / holo it should also send a mail to the person / persons hosting the event so thay can get and idea BEFORE hand if the event is going to be a sucsses or not thay way saving some hartache if thay send a lot of creadits getting it all sortted and find only thay turn up?!?!?!?!

Not a bad idea actually. I know theres some events that get posted in our server forums but i do believe as you say that there are more. Shouldn't be that hard to do something like that, i think maybe it'd take the underlying function of a mission terminal and just adapt it slightly.

Peolpe have been talking about this for sometime, I don't think it will be befor all the other big changes coming up. ie Comabt re-balance.

I seriously think you can using your holocron (ctrl+h). Maybe they took this out but I think I checked there before. I'll try again on my server to double check.

Every Monday, Wed, and Friday the Current Events web page and the Current events knowledge base fileis updated. You can use the holocron in game to search on the knowledge base for Current Events. Of course to get your event listed there you need to post your event in the correct format on your galaxy Player Events thread.

I don't think most players have opened their holocron since their noob days and I don't know what % of players come to the boards so a terminal and mail system would be a good idea.

What a great idea. I know I always forget about player events or forget to check the listing before I log on. Might be neat to make it a skill available to Entertainers or Merchants (Propagandist), but would probably be best if kept on a static terminal in non player cities.

Well I agree most people do not check or even know why they would want to check their holocron. We now know this so I suggest we get the information out at out PA meetings and when we help out new players. If we as a community make an effort to use the tools and inform our friends then I think we can increase event participation and havesome more fun.
