Thread: Longer than a minipublish, shorter than a year
- A broken, imbalanced combat system (If it wasn't broken, why are you fixing it a year after release?)
- Completely broken and worthless profession trees (Smuggler, Commando, Squad Leader, etc.)
- Dyfunctional bounty hunting droids and inability for bounty hunters to earn a living through their profession. For a period of months, bounty hunters were actually paying about sixty thousand credits a mission for the honor of hunting Jedi. ...huh?
- Publishes with longer and longer periods of time between them
- No montly story. Remember Cries of Alderaan?
- A glut of canon-breaking content, causing the entire focus of the game to shift to Jedi (in a mostly Jedi-free time period)
- Progressively degenerating systems and errors that take over six months to correct or adjust (broken mamienand harvester animations, the imperial hat, most races still unable to wear RIS helmet)
- No player generated missions or ability to generate them
- Terrible customer service. I get better service at Frys.
And that's just scratching the surface. I love Star Wars, but I sincerely hope that Lucas Arts has the sense NOT to allow SOE to make SWG2. SOE did a lot of things right with this game (the player driven economy and the noncombat professions were a daring move and deserve some props) but they also dropped the ball a few times. And some of the balls were really big balls.
I'm a roleplayer and this game has gotten a lot of extra life from being a glorified chat room. JTL aside, most of the last four months I've played the game I've sat in cantinas and tried to entertain people with my witty banter. I haven't hunted a single bounty. I haven't even cloned in... I don't know how long. But if I want to roleplay I can just head over to the Wizards of the Coast forums and join a Star Wars game there. For free.
SOE policy is to delete threads that criticise without doing so constructively. So here's my constructive criticism: You know what to do. Do it, and do it fast. Your competition is breathing down your neck, and you cannot tell me that with all the money this game is pulling in that you can't afford to hire a few more artists, programmers, and CSRs to make this thing run smoothly.
Prove to me that it's worth it for me to continue giving you my money.

I'll still have a good four months built up, and I think I've paid to beta test this game long enough. I've been a subscriber since the first month of live and I have to say that I'm constantlyamazed at the lack of updates and fixes. For well over a year now we've had:

So i wouldn't be too quick to pile everything on the devs.

Broken combat system: dont think so, if it was as broken as u suggest, why have you played for the last year.
imbalanced combat system: well, ok. I guess ive just adjusted to the reality of the system. I accept the fact that you shouldnt pvp alone. Certain combat professions have different strengths and weekness. Its ok to me that a rifleman should be able to own a pistoleer. Carbineers only lays states, they cant do much damage on their own, fine, dont try to take a melee stacker one on with with a carbineer at close range. Blah, Blah Blah. Different professions are good at different things. And they arent so much as fixing the combat system as calling it an upgrade.
smuggler worthless: no, dont think so, ive enjoyed my sliced armor and weapons. Maybe u meant a worthless branch instead of tree. Ok, ive got no idea how the rest of smuggler works so, no comment
commando, worthless: pve'd and pvp'd with commando's on occasion, they also seems to have something to add
squad leader, worthless: form up=dizzy cure, very nice. Retreat=run down jedi's using force run. Steady aim gives nice bonus to hit. Group terrain negotiation, gotta love it hunting night sisters on dath when u dont have any scout skills. How about boost moral. Works great in the DWB espically when u have a Combat medic healing mind wounds. Use Boost moral to spread wounds, have Master TK meditate to heal wounds. Repeat.Oh and dont forget the up to +30 rangad and melee defense to everyone in the group.
Im tired of responding to your comments for now. But ill leave with one final thought. Have u every taken a step back and looked at the game in awe that they can even get this complex of a game system to work at all. Try looking out a window in someones sorosub ship and watch the interaction of everything that is happening as it is being coordinated across the internet in real time. Must be magic.
