I haven't been able to play for a while and when I get back on my house is gone. I figure it is probably because my matinence reached 0. Does anybody know how i can get it and my stuff inside it back. Because I had a lot of valuable stuff in it.

Dude, if the house vanished cause the maintenace wasn't paid, you lost everything in it permanantly.

Sorry.

Put in a cs ticket and see if they'll restore your house and it's good. I had a house disappear right out from under me and they replaced it and all it contained.

"I figure it is probably because my matinence reached 0."

They will not replace it, or any items in it, if the mainteance reached 0 and the house disappeared because it's condition reached 0%. Sorry.

well that is stupid, i am never buying a house again. There will be some times when I won't be able to play the game for a week or 2 weeks or more at a time. And if I am going to lose all my stuff everytime I won't be able to play, then i see no reason to buy a house.

Thanks Gallbearer for your post, and no offense to youor any other architect, but I can't spend that much credits for everytime my house and stuff disappears. I had well over 100-150k of stuff in the house. And some of it was skill enhancers that I got off a tukan king that will be really hard to replace.

I don't mind paying the matinence fee but i couldn't pay it because I wasn't there to pay it. Ihad payed the matinence fee several times before. They should have it where if your matinence fee reaches 0 then you can't enter the house until it is payed. They should never delete it. They have no reason to,they can't say because of space because we have our 10 lots they told us we would have.

Please everybody feel free to post your opinions

Yeah, it's pretty unfair. Although, your idea of "not being able to go into your house until paided" is pretty good and should be implemented.

I lost a storage home that had a few things I had collected, like a full Tusken suit and few weapons, food, and armor... IT sucked when I went to go see it (was going to move some stuff from it, into my medium home) and it was not there.

And now, I can't even get tusken gear loot from tuskens, evenif Ikill them myself (I killed 4 tuskens and a tusken warlord one time, all were instant death's).

I demand compensation!

I think of maintenance as akin to a mortgage that is foreclosed. I recognize it is more like paying utilities, but the end result is more like a mortgage foreclosure, because you lose it entirely, rather than having to pay arrears to get the power, etc, turned back on. Unfortunately, the rules are very clear. My sympathies on your losses.

I have no opinion particularly on the issue of should you lose it entirely. Them's the rules. /shrug

Taskeen, sorry that it happened to you too and for your losses

Myrill, I understand your point and that those are the rules, I just wish they would change the rules, I am not as concerned about getting my stuff back as I am for this not to happen to other people.

I would like everybody to post their opinions on this subject. Maybe if we get enough posts we can get this changed. I mean look at all the other stuff that has been changed because people whine about it. Look at all the nerfs they did.

Even if they don't look at this, I would still like to know if anyone else agrees with me for this to get changed. If you are a casual player or someone who goes on vacations then you will probably want this to get changed.

Or maybe change it where you can put credits in the terminal in the house and just have the matinence fee take from the credits in the terminal. That way if you know your not going to get to play for a while or just don't go to your house often, then you don't have to worry about losing your house and your stuff. Its basically like paying in advance, you could put 100000 credits in the terminal and not worry about matinence for quite a while. They would need to give you an e-mail if you did owe matinence so you would know to go back and pay it off. Plus that would be like having a Piggy bank in your house to store credits if you were saving for something.

If you go on vacation without paying your mortgage ...

This is why it's good to have a friend added onto your Admin list. Or another guild member perhaps.

In the Regulators Guild if you are leaving the game for sometime, you can place your house on the maintenance list, and it will be taken care of.

I know this doesn't help, but just giving you ideas for the future.

Also, if you know you aren't going to be on for awhile, redeed your house and store everything in the bank.

"I had well over 100-150k of stuff in the house."

And for 10-20k you could have pre-paid maint for a month.

Sorry to hear you lost your stuff, but that's the way they system is intended to work.

thanks guys

wow, this clears up a lot

I didn't know you could have a friend pay or that you could pre-pay matinence or that you could redeed it. The rules are ok and I am on my way to buy another house and put 100000 in the matinence pool.

Also, is there a way you can pay for the matinence while you aren't at your house? Like if I was on endor and my house was on tattoonie.

AFAIK, you can put any amount of credits into the maintenance pool. I usually put about a week 's worth, but I don't see anything that would prevent you from putting in several week's worth. Perhaps you mean that it would be withdrawn from your bank account automatically. I think that would be a terrific idea. In rl, you can set up automatic payments from your bank account to each creditor. Why not in swg?
