I keep seeing references made by people saying they found things on player's vendors through the vendor search function.

When I go to the Bazaar, and do a search, I don't see any boxes to check, or anything I can do to make the items on player's vendors also appear.

I've also looked on my options tab, and can't find anything.

Am I missing something? How can you search player vendors without flying/shuttling/biking all over the galaxy to do so?

At the top of the bazaar, there's a separate "Vendor search" tab for player vendors. The searches are completely separate, you can't simultaneously look for an item on the bazaar and on vendors (although you could do a search in each).

Oh, and don't forget to set the region to "this planet" or "entire galaxy" before doing the search. Due to how the planetary regions are set up, for almost all NPC cities the "no build" zone surrounding it is the region, so there won't be any player vendors within that area. I think some outposts may be exceptions to this rule, though.

Although maybe you already knew about the "vendor search" tab and there's some misunderstanding, I dunno. But basically, "Bazaar" searches the items for sale on bazaar terminals, "Vendor search" searches for items on player vendors.
