Everything goes super until you get instructed to kill Tomi Jinsin.

Apparently tho they have fixed it - I hit him right at server-up and was allowed to proceed, and another fella did it soon after (10 mins maybe?).

We both talked to Ral Mundi after killing Tomi, and were instructed to look for starship components in the Capitol building.

Waypoint is at -192 -4595. Radial option on the crate.

Then return to Ral...3090 creds was our reward, each of us (separately).

Hope they are going somewhere with this...Cries of Alderaan and Secrets of the Syren have been among my favorite game quests!

Ral Mundi quest wasn't worth the effort. Does the Secrets of Syren give any badges like Cries of Alderaan did?

I'm going to kill Tomi Jinsin just one more time... if the quest doesn't advance I am going to hold my breath until I turn blue. I'm not kidding this time!

Well for Cries of Alderaan the "winner" (imp vs. rebel - number of peeps who completed on each side) got a faction bonus.

Syren ends with you picking a side for the final missions...so does "Catch a Fallen Star" for that matter...

Don't have any idea whether that will end in some GCW bonus for your server like "Cries" did. Might just be for the sake of content.

Yeah well I cannot even get past the first part where you have to give the lady a crafting tool that you have made. I don't have the skills for that and to get the novice box needed I'd have to drop Novice BH and Master Rifleman! Ugh

My alt char is a crafter type and he did make a crafting tool BUT the dumb ol lady won't accept from him!

Is it maybe because my main char is not a crafter but my alt is? I mean maybe my main is bugging my alt so he doesn't list as a crafter type?

Very frustrating that I cannot do this quest!!

Yeah unfortunately the toon doing the quest needs to be the nov artisan and make the tool - you can't just buy a tool and offer it - you need to have Novice Artisan and make a tool for her yourself after receiving her request.

Have you tried getting a crate of tools and pulling one from the crate? That used to mark you as the tool creator.

I can confirm that this seems fixed.

I completed the quest on Radiant a long time after server reset.

And yes, Lithium told me it was "fixing" the HTML.

Two things:

  • You may have a Radiant smile, but I still have a Kettemoor frown -- Tomi still seems broke here.

  • This quest really seems aimed at starting players. It gets you started in a few different aspects of the game and gives you a first excuse to try out space ops (at least it was Hoshoa's excuse). I agree it holds littel for high level characters.

I guess the reason they don't let new posters edit is so we can get our post count up fixing stuff.
