How can you assist a player friend since /assist doesn't work anymore?

Target them and use your attacks as normal. They will pass through to their target.

As a side note, this has created a bug in reverse.

If you and another player are both attacking/targeting the same mob and you attempt to heal yourself (not using a /heal self macro) you'll instead heal the other player. So in order to heal yourself you need to untarget everything and then heal.

Annoying and sometimes life-threatening.

Latest notes on TC indicate that if you have nothing targeted and are attacked, you will auto-target the next thing that attacks you. If the first bug isn't fixed.. it's going to make healing yourself while tanking very, very tricky lol.
