The Next Mission thats on endor is very long and ive tried it over and over again and each time i keep getting random spawns of tier 4's attacking me while i do the mission and then even if i try to get away i cant last against them .... Can Anyone give me any help on what i can do or is there a Guide to Storm Squadron Anywhere That I can look at because i havent found one yet..... its driving me insane because ive bought the interceptor and bomber ready to use and im having to do this impossible mission before i can get any further

Help Appreciated !

storm squad is insanely hard. especially the tier 3 missions, there is not another set of missions which even comes close to this in terms of difficulty. storm squad was the first squad that i mastered and i needed help to run that mission. your best bet is to get someone to go along with you. if you can't manage that, you may have to hyper into another zone (same space sector) and slowly make your way back. often the escort ship won't be blown up by the attacking ships.

anyway. i do sympathize with you on this mission and wish you luck. (on the upside you don't have to use the xp to train the tier 3 boxes, you only need to finish the mission then you can train and it costs 0 xp. for whatever that's worth)

hehe yep you should read the pilot profesion board lots of posts about storm being hard
a few tips
1 buy a heavy tie these can be used at 1xxx and have 95k mass, easily the best ship till 4xxx however will cost you around 500k on most servers
2 use droid comands get someone to wright weapon overload 3 to a droid controll chip then add it to your flight computer also get capacitor to shield shunt 2 once you have these you will hit alot harder and be able to heal your shields
3 if you can ok it sounds stupid but try to avoid wild non mission spawns.. flying 1k out of your way shouldent effect your mission unless its a escort but will let you avoid non mission agro
hope this helps however i strongly recomend the pilot forums even ace's can learn from a few of the faq's =]

That's the trick...just fly around the wild spawns on the way to your waypoint. That's how I did the tier 3 missions solo.

This guide helped me alot with tier 3. I had to have help on mission 1 and 3. Droid commands definitely help.

I'm just starting out in SS and i have what might seem to be a stupid question. On the mission where you have to go to lok and talk to the engineer contact. He says to go out back and get the grease or whatever but where exactly is "out back"? Is there another npc i have to talk to or something? I didnt get another wp to show me where to go and "out back" is a very vague term. Can someone give me a brief walkthrough of that mission please?

This sounds exactly like a post I made about a month ago....

I got the Heavy TIE (~95k mass), loaded it to the hilt with top level weapons/shields....also get the weapon overcharge 3, shield shunt (at least 2), and engine overload (2 at least). After I did this I managed to solo EVERY remaining mission in storm squadron....including the ace mission.

Also, do yourself a favor and train 2/3/2/2 first, this gives you access to better equipment and since you have a 95k mass ship don't really need to worry about mass limitations.

Check the stickies on the pilot forum for more good info.

Haha, I've had the EXACT same problem. I tried and failed this very mission a few times and got so mad I quit going into space for 2-3 months. Just a week ago, I decided to try it again. I've tried twice, each time with a different Ace Pilot grouped with me. All goes fine until those danged Tier 4's spawn on me. Once, I actually managed to make it to the space station for repairs but the tier 4's followed me and killed me near the station. I've attempted this mission enough times that I've maxed my Space Combat XP. If I could just train the next equipment level, I think I'd do fine. But of course, I can't train until I finish the mission.

This is so darn frustrating...

The best way is always to have some fellow guildmates in high-end starships helping you in the more difficult missions. Actually, I find that the space mission difficulty doesn't so much base on higher tier level of attacking ships, but on the number of those ships attacking at the same time.

Just target the engines of every ship and disable them, then you can take care of the rest of the bunch and kill the remains later unless they explode on their own after some time.

There are three different "Fuel Technicians" in Nym's fortress. You have to find which one is the correct one

I solo'd this last night on try #7 (#3 with the Heavy TIE) following advice from here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=113603

as well as from the link posted earlier in this thread about what to expect. I had the static Tier 4 group jump on me while I was docked with the freighter you have to repair and ended up fighting them while the freighter went on its way. He made it to his drop point by himself and I didn't have to fight a single baddie that spawned for that part of the mission. That freighter was down to 50% sheilds, but he still made it and I got credit for it.

The advice I found most helpful was:

1) Heavy TIE with maxed out equipment

2) Droid chips for weapons overload, engine overload, and shield shunt

3) Disable, disable, disable. Kills take too long.

4) Find the B-Wings in the groups and get them first so you don't have to worry about missles.

Keep your head up, it's doable with enough persistance.

Thanx a bunch taco. I just figured the one with the icon over him would be the one and didnt bother to look for more. I thought he was just trying to send me in the right direction without giving too much away. I'll bet everyone got a good laugh since the post started with high lvl missions and I chime in and announce my stupidity.
