So I actually got to a point as a brawler to become a master, is there any other way to get apprentice points other than training others, I have been going everywhere looking for someone to train and no one needs it so what should I do now?
I see people fighting more than one creature everywhere, I am wearing some mabari armor or something like that and if more than one creature gets into the fray I have to run. Why don't my stats increase with my level of ability in the brawler feild? What am I doing wrong that I can't fight more than one creature?
I try to get better armor but the encumbrances prohibit me from getting really good armor, getting better in a skill doesn't help me to get it, eating a stat enhancing item will help but then if it runs out I'm back to square one. How do I get to a point where I can where the better armor without increasing my stats temporarily? I want to be able to wear it all the time.
lastly I don't think I like that when I do have level 4 skills in brawler and I try to use another skill set that is at novice level that I can be killed by something like minor worts, is that how it's supposed to be?
I'm kind of disappointed in all this because I have been working so hard to get skills up but it seems that skill only helps you to damage things but doesn't help your stats to any degree or aid you in wearing better armor or to be able to take damage better or am I doing something wrong?
I appreciate any insight someone can give me on these things.

- fastest way to get AXP (apperntice exp) is to get ranged support1 in marksman and find someone that will let you train them in it over and over. it only costs 300 exp per train i think and people who are capped on combat exp usually dont mind. if you toss in some money they usually do it easy.

- 1 master brawler really isnt that great of a damaging profession, most people who are fighting more than 1 creature are an elite profession (Tera Kasi, Swordsman...). 2 mabari armor isnt that good, invest in some Ubese armor with atleast 70% kinetic protection, start off with a jacket, then a helmet, then boots then gloves and bracers. 3 if you can spend the 10k or so it costs to get a buff before you fight. you stats dont increase like in other mmo's but you skills do, you gain more skills but you HAM stays the same
I try to get better armor but the encumbrances prohibit me from getting really good armor, getting better in a skill doesn't help me to get it, eating a stat enhancing item will help but then if it runs out I'm back to square one. - most people have their stats migrated to maximum mind stats and always hunt while buffed. not many people can get on a full suit of say composite armor while unbuffed, ubese is lighter encumberance and good for melee fighting
lastly I don't think I like that when I do have level 4 skills in brawler and I try to use another skill set that is at novice level that I can be killed by something like minor worts, is that how it's supposed to be?
- if you are trying to use marksman skills its because: 1 marksman arnt really good at melee combat, which is what happens when animals attack you, 2 you are most likely using a weapon that is not the same caliber as a lvl4 weapon, novice weapons dont compare to higher lvl ones.
I'm kind of disappointed in all this because I have been working so hard to get skills up but it seems that skill only helps you to damage things but doesn't help your stats to any degree or aid you in wearing better armor or to be able to take damage better or am I doing something wrong?
- the doctor and entertainer professions are around to buff your stats so that you can perform better.
I appreciate any insight someone can give me on these things.

First off Brawler is a good skill, but its not an elite skill.
TKA, Fencer, Swords and Pike are all elites that follow from brawler lvl 4 skills and tka (just as an instance) is a fantastic killing skill.
there are skills that will help you stand and fight, one is called melee defence, damage mitigation is another Master tka has mitigation 3 on the master block, as well as this as u lvl up each new skill helps, tho some more than others.
intimidating ur enemy will reduce how much damage it can do, doing intimidate and stun will drasticly reduce its damage output.
food is very helpfull, a doctors buff will add thousands of hitpoints to ur stats, a doctors buff might make the game easier for you, mabye even too easy.
Armour....... go for kinetic protection as most creatures dish out kinetic damage, composite armour on my server has 80% kinetic protection and cost about 300k or more. ubeese armour is much cheaper and is usually high kinetic protection but not much else.
get a smuggler to slice armour for you, a set of composite armour sliced will still need a doctors buff to get it all on.
AP points, well no...... theres nothing u can do except train someone, the only way to get ap is by training another person.
consider joining a guild

your stats only increase with buffs. the reason they can stand longer is because of better armor, toughness, damage mitigation, buffs, and/or they are stronger
I try to get better armor but the encumbrances prohibit me from getting really good armor, getting better in a skill doesn't help me to get it, eating a stat enhancing item will help but then if it runs out I'm back to square one. either migrate your stats or gets buffs then put it on

you get killed my minor worts at 4/4/4/4 brawler? i kill them at 0/0/0/0 brawler

to wear better armor, just get buffs, then put it on. to take more damage, toughness and mitigation (some combat skills give that) will reduce the amount of damage they do
I appreciate any insight someone can give me on these things.

Oh My God, the memories of being a noob......This game has a steep learning curve and when your new, it's not like other games where you can get by all the time without understanding exactly what you have to do. Nothing is given to youin this game...
And to think, todays noobs have it so much better....You get mounts, vehicles, great armor and weapons, guides to explain how to do everything you ever needed to know (time consuming though) and soon to be space ships that will cut out some or all of your travel cost.....In my noob days, we had none of this stuff, had to walk everywhere, there was no good armor or weapons, noone had millions (maybe 200k..LOL). So on the bright side, your lucky....from my point of veiw anyway
The best advice I can giveyou though, is to join a veteran guild or one with members that would gladly take you under their wing. It's hard to explain all that you need to know to end your frustration....it's better learning hands on with a teacher looking over your shoulder. At the same time, you make some great friends that will keep the game fun for you each time you reach boredom in the game.
Anyway, let me know what server your on and I might be able to help you more or less depending what time and which server your on....On Ahazi, I can basically through you some freebee's, on bria, intrepid and farstar I can help a bit and the rest you'll be more advanced than me....but my knowledge reaches way further than any level of professions you've mastered (not bragging, just fact of the game
)
Sorry I didn't give more specific help.....I just feel your frustration is to deep to type a bunch of answers that will ultimately lead you to more and more questions.....so in-game help is the best for you right now....unless of course you have the time to read millions of post in the forums.....Uhmmmm! I didn't think so!!!!!!!

yep and it was uphill both ways and no one had any scout
the money thing is right on, when i 1st started over a year ago a friend gave me 100k, i was like OMG he must be rich to have enough to just give me 100k. he took some time off and just came back a month or so ago, and i gave him 500k he almost crapped his pants, and then he really did when i told him how much money i had and 500k was pocket change.

Wow, thanks everyone, that helps a lot. The only other question I have then is... Should I even bother with master brawler and just move on to an elite skill and save my apprentice points for an elite skill mastery.

YES - get master brawler, you should be able to get enough AP points for both

Master Brawler can be very useful, as you get Intimidate 2, which lasts longer than regular intimidate, Warcry 2, same deal but for warcry, and a variety of Lunges which are more powerful... Ithink the unarmed one does a long-rangeKD, but not sure on the others... I forget what else you get (been a while since I've had this skill). I would say get it for now... in fact, get what skills you can until you run out of skill points. Then you can decide what you can do without and start dropping skills as you qualify for new ones. Scout/ Medic skills are of paticular use.
And of course, picking your Elite profession, you should give some consideration to your interests. TKA and Swordsman are good for PvE, fighting against the computer controlled creatures and guys if you don't know (I haven't done swordsman but TK is a lot of fun once you get there... getting to novice is a pain but much easier if you have buffs and a speed-sliced VK). If you want to do more of PvP, which is fighting against other players, then Fencer is the best brawler-based PvP class, as it allows you to do Stun Damage with a Stun baton, which cuts through a lot of armor. I haven't done Pikeman either. Some people love it, some people hate it. I'm not sure I would reccomend it as your first brawler class; you need good, usually looted from Nightsisters, equipment for it to be ideal.
The way to know what you like is by trying different stuff. Best of luck to you :-D.

I should also add that with regards to using, say, TK or Swordsman in PvP or Fencer in PvE: it can be done, but these are not the areas that these professions excel, unless you have a lot of unusual equipment or are very experienced in these fields. I know I can use Fencer fairly decently in PvE, and it will work fine against most stuff, but the damage is somewhat low most of the time, and it is much better in PvP.
