Thread: Details on the term stacking/stacker?

From what I understand, stacking goes like this-

I shoot someone with healthShot1,their healthbleeds at rate A

I then shoot them with healthShot2,their healthbleeds at rateB

..so I've stacked two health bleeds for rate A+B. But from the way people (who typically PvP a lot) talk about "stackers", it sure sounds like they don't like'em, e.g. Player-X is a stacker. I don't really understand it.. doesn't everyoneuse all the DoTs they have and thus all players are stackers?

Any clarification would be appreciated, thanks.

One of them is.

Stacker, as in defense stacker, ie; loads of Defense V's, loads of Ranged and Melee, Dodge etc etc....resulting in becoming very hard to hit.

The other refers to stacking DOTS.

great, thanks a lot, i understand now just to be sure,a "V" is "versus", correct?

this kind of reminds me when i was learning the game how there is "stun" damage, and a stun state too.

I like the term temploiter myself

I think they get the verbal beating because some of them talk alot of smack, saying how good 'they' are, when it has more to do with the min/max template of choice. Although annoying at times, most of them can be delt with and to some extent shows how flexible the class system is in SWG. Possibly too flexible in some peoples opinions.

Basically when people refer to stackers in SWG it's defense stackers. Defense stacking is when you 'dabble' in elite professions to getmore melee/ranged defenseand/or more Defense Vs states.

Yes.

And for some reason these people who have sacrificed other useful or fun skills in order to have higher defence stats are pilloried, reviled and generally fair game for any abuse or blame you may wish to throw at them.

Never figured out why /shrug

Yeah, I don't understand why people seem to bash defense stackers either. It's their skill points so they can spend them anyway they want. Heck, my TestCenter character is somewhat of a defense stacker and I love it.
