Dear SWG Gamers:
I hope you this helps to encourage battles on your server. We do these kind of battles on our server twce a month in addition to the daily pvp we have and other events. The battles attract around 150-300 players on average.
1. Here is an Example: GCW BATTLE 10/03/04
2. Make sure to host the battle on Sunday starting somewhere around 12-1 PM Pacific time to include the European players on your server.
3. Make sure to post and bump the battle on your server forum in your own thread just in case you need to edit it to update. Also post it on the players hosted event thread on your server too. Player Hosted Events Listed By Galaxy
4. Make sure to have a huge in game friends list that you can mass mail your the event to. Be sure to include an optout option You will also learn how to copy, past, and use notepad. To set up copy and post go to control + o and in the control section, hit keymap, and from there you can set up the commands to copy and paste. To access notepad just type /notepad in your spatial chat box.
5. Make sure to post and bump the battle on the events forum also. SWG Events Forum
6. Make sure to contact PEX or any other DEV Events CSR to help setup decorations, spawn npcs, and put up static recruiters for your event one month prior to your event.
7. Make sure to post your event on the forums one month prior to the event so it does not conflict with other events. Be careful of holidays or special events by soe, try to plan around them.
8. Make sure to mass mail entertainer groups on your server to help out with mind buff bots ahead of time.
9. Try to setup a Public TeamSpeak or Ventrilo Server for your server. Naritus TeamSpeak Post
10. Make sure to carry a bag full of fireworks for the finale.
11. And most of all check out the SOE guide lines to running a tournament or event. SOE's SWG Events Guide
Sincerely,
Thompson from Naritus
