Thread: Target Specific MOB Macro

I had a auto target and attack macor set up once when I was at the geo cave with the guild. I found this as an alternative to the CycleTargetOutwards macro that targets and attacks anything and everything. Unfortunatley I lost it and can not find it. All I recall is the macro allows you to insert the name of the mob. It was somehting like /tar crazed. Or /attack crazed. I used crazed at the geno cave to target just the "crazed genos". The guy who listed the macro stated you could use "buffoon, or meatlump" in the macro just replace the name with whatever you were after, this way you were not attacking anything and everything that walked by, just what you needed to target to combat. I can not find the web page anywhere, does anyone know of this macro or use it and what it is? Worked great, but all I can find is that standard attack anything macro.

Why don't you just lay off? That's a little rediculous the way you responded to his post. I feel he was asking a legitimate question. Targeting specific enemies could be helpful. In his example, the Geno caves, targeting just the genos would be nice so the deranged kwi or whatever there called don't get pulled on you when your tring to go through the cave and leave them for the stronger players. At least thats the way I'd use it. And yes I am at my keyboard when I do it. I personally would like t ose ea constructive response to this as I have none.

Macros where put in the game by the designers from the very begining and using them is part of playing the game. So sit at your keyboard and play non stop while others play the game to its full potential and use macos for bathroom breaks or whatever they dream up.

LOL I understand where you are coming from WizKid72. But to tell the truth, I only started this game less than 3 weeks ago. I have scoured the net looking for different tips on making my game time more enjoyabe. Including teh use of AFK macros. I agree that there are all too many people abusing them, however, there are a few of us who would like to be able to ask for advice on legit macros without being flamed by someone who is able to spend every waking second in front of the PC. I do not have access to the game in my bathtub, toilet, bed, or any other room but my den for that matter. And Ido appreciate the OCCASIONAL use of an AFK macro so that I can enjoy life to its fullest(read.. Go tot the bathroom, eat dinner, play with my son when he grabs me away from the PC, etc..). I enjoy playing games and have been doing so for many years. Through that time I have discovered that cheating in a game always makes the game less enjoyable for me in the long run. But that's just my humble opinion. As for somone camping in anyones AFK spot, great let someone who is there get the XP, I don't really care. But I do have one question WizKid, have you tried entertainer? That has got to be the lowliest profession in game. And IMHO you almost have to AFK grind just to stay with it long enough to get a mastery in it. But hey, taht's just me.

I've mastered dancer and musician onStarsider, and just musician on Flurry, as a matter of fact, and those who knows me during those days knows why I left that profession.. hologrinders were getting on my nerves.. buffbots were taking away business.. macrospammers.. ugh..

I've actually had a great time being an entertainer.. we even formed the Dearic Cantina Band guild right out of beta 3 back when Dearic was a flourishing city with the Crossbone and SIZ INK guilds helping and financing us.. sigh.. these were the days..

In which case Ia applaud your efforts. As a matter of principal, I will not be healed, buffed, or otherwise spend my credits/time on an AFK "bot". Even those dancers I see popping up all over. O nthe other hand, I do appreciate a good hands free macro Such as the one I use to tumble for some extra creds. I do aoccasionally leave it running while I run to take care of real life, but I do like to sit and chat with whomever I am helping out. I tried it AFK and found the results less than impressive, and felt like a waste of time. But oh well, we all have ways of doing it, right? That's what makes it a great place to be! LOL Keep on enjoying the game, that's the bottom line and if a few macros will help you, more power to ya. They were included in the game for a reason, and I am trying my best to find out what it is. Long live the empire!

I want to specify I am constantly at my keyboard using this macro. We were in a large group of people as well sharing with other groups. They were targeting and killing faster than I could get a manual target because of the crowd, that way I still got a few hits in and some XP. Plus before finding the macro I'm talking about, we were pulling up the Kwi's and stuff we didnt want, or you constantly locked on something you couldnt attack because it was to far away. I wouldn't dream of AFk killing here, too risky. Besides if I needed to do that, I just go stand in a group of meatlumps they auto attack me, cause I am well hated by the criminal community.

I have been tweaking it how ever and it involves /tar "put specified target name here" and cycling it. Just testing to make sure you dont attack the wrong target. May not be perfect, but it worked great down there. Im still looking for advice and testing my theories.

To all those bashing my question...if you areso straight up, then why are you looking at the "Game hints" forums, and more importantly my post. Curiosity always gets the cat don't it?
