I've just come back to farstar after 8 months, and notice a lot of very high defence composite (around %90). The enc is really damn high though. How much of this stuff do people actually wear? I know about the buff and wear thing, but a full suit of %90 seems almost impossible to put on.
My comp is only about %35-40, but the enc is really low in comparison. What should I do...? I'm all confused...
What sort of stats do high comp wearers have?

On another server i had a suit of comp with 80% on everything, enc was low enough to put on 5 main pieces without a buff. e.g. under 200 health enc on armour, under 200 mind enc on helm. i loved it, cost me an arm and a leg (well, two arms
)
personaly i just buff and don these days, like most people do, sepcial moves are for when buffed or feeling frisky.
I have heard of a comp nerf comming our way though, althing little about how or why, perhaps someone will enlighten.
personaly though, i'd be happy with a full suit of marbari and a comp help, if only it could be made decent
never tried padded, all i could ever find was worse defence than comp, but with the same enc, so seemed like a waste of time.

Ok, first things first. Contrair when you were here back in the first few months, everyone fights buffed now. If you don't get buffed, you can't wear armor effectively because of the H/A/M cost.
So get your 6 stats buffed by a doc at minimum. You will then *need* two Vasarian Brandy's constantly for +800 to mind stats roughly, and then possibly one Ahriza if you are a rifleman. Entertainer buffs are extremely helpful, but not completely necessary.
If you are human, migrating your stats to all mind is also very helpful, but that would make you dependant on buffs, which can be annoying if you can't find a doctor around.
Right now, you don't need bracers and bicep armor pieces because for some reason, damage doesn't target them, so that takes about 200 encumbrance down or so.
My setup is: Effectiveness sliced helmet, effectiveness sliced chest, and encumbrance sliced boots, gloves. Pants are optional in PVP but in PVE I have noticed you do get hit there, so to be safe, wear them if your doing high end PVE. If not, you can just wear some pants or cool looking skirt clothing to make ya look pimp.
The high 80% armor is extremely helpful, as you take very little damage. And another note, if you are gonna PVP, make sure you pick up some with stun resistance on it, as that helps as well. Plus some PSG's.
And there you have it, a lot more complex then back in the day when everyone just had a pistol and ran around and didn't worry about that stuff.

Padded is by no means a waste of time.
A suit of 60% kinetic resist padded, I can wear almost the whole thing sans buffs.
It may be lower resist then composite or even ubese... but you make up for it with style
And btw.. you don't need to be as buffed constantly as some people seem to think.
The high-effectiveness armor + buffs = god mode for the most part, and that gets really boring.
