Every time I try to place a house, it say that "building is not permitted here." How do I know where I can build a house?

look for other houses.

There a reason for all the Vacant land outside Coronet

Theorder in-game
Drop of Vendor is the tent outside coronet corellia.
type /waypoint -235 -5666
Make drops to any vendor in the tent

There's a 1000m no build zone around static cities (some cities the radius is smaller and some it's biger)

If you can't build there just kee moving away from the city.

Housing is not allowed at all on Dathomir, Yavin 4 and Endor.

The message you get usually means you're too close to an NPC city

Yea this is the best advice...look for where there are other houses and it's pretty certain you can build there (providing it isn't a Player City)

Sometimes you can't build if there's a creature lair nearby, if that's the problem just go destroy the lair. The ground could also be too uneven to build on.

Terrain can affect building too. Large rocks, thick forest, and steep slopes can prevent building. In the case of those you can open up the placement system, but the place you try will be in red (which means no-go).

You can't build within the NPC cities, and for player cities you need to have permission form the city. But you can place it anywhere outside cities
