Is there a way to sort out the levels when you use CNTRL+M in a multilevel building, dungeon, whatever? I find it very confusing to navigate with all the layers visible at the same time.

I don't think there is i'm afraid. The next best thing is to try to zoom in the overlay map (ctrl + mousewheel) in to a setting that helps more than having it default.

the map will get lighter on the floor or level that you are on, thats about the best that it gets. the map is all but useless in places like the warren though

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know if it is possible to make your overhead map (ctrl + m) a little more transparant like you can your HUD?

hmm they should add that functionality, I'm always swithching it on & off because I cann't see anything really when it's up, so just have to follow the map blind in cities or turn it off to interact with anyone/thing.
Maybe it's my eyes /shrug

or try one of the other themes for the hud. that may change the colors so you can see the map better
