Grab missions from the mission terminals, if you're not grouped you can handle any that pop up by yourself.

If you are grouped, don't go overboard Look for missions under 4 or 5k.

Also, if you group you get a 20% xp bonus

Not an answer you were looking for, but I suggest you take your time and learn the profession you're grinding, or it will come back and bite you later, FWIW.

Get some buffs and armor then head to dant for some quenker missions. Just uses a laser rifle and spam /pointblankarea1 at the lair. Won't teach you anything about rifles, but will get it done quick.

As a noobie starting off I think marksman is a terible choice, heres why...

Most things you fight are using melee attacks, even creatures. Melee professions tend to give more melee defence bonuses as well as melee mitigation in the Elite stages. This is huge when you have no armor because youre too broke to buy any.

If you plan on mastering two fighting profs do the melee one first, it will make life much easier.

fencer/rifles is a safe bet...high offence(rifles) high defence(fencer).

As for what to kill, the woodlands and outskirts of corellia have great lower level mobs, once you hit novice elite (fencer, rifles w/e) dantooine mining outpost is the place to be. good luck, and enjoy.

Currently I am a marksman with stats on the ladder of 3-2-1-3
What is the quickest way for me to gain xp because it seems the process has gotten slower on the rifle side now tht i have 3 filled in... can some one help me out or give general advice in this thread?
Thanks

Finish maxing out Rifle abilities. It'll make the rest easier.

I, personally, went to Blueleaf Temple on Yavin 4 and hit klikniks with a macro all night. There is (was?) a spot on the ledges inside the Temple where they couldn't hit you. I don't know if the devs ever fixed that, but if you ran a rifle macro, you could leave it for hours and rack up the XP easily.

In retrospect, however, I recommend grinding it in-person (i.e., without a macro). I found it a lot more satisfying. In that event, just look for groups on high-level planets (Dath or Endor) or high-level POIs (Darktrooper base, Fort Tusken, etc.).
