I tried breaking the code... and i did there is none.
There is no way to figure out what the number of your draft schematic.
everyone says "Count left to right starting at 0 and dont count schematics you cant use with that crafter"
i found this to be pure BS. I did /selectdraftschematic00 and it was HALFWAY DOWN MY FREAKING LIST! and i only had ONE schematic i couldnt use with that crafter.
unless theres some formula im missing because i havent dedicated my life to finding an answer to this, theres no way to know which schematic is which number.

This does work but the reason it didnt work for you is because in the options there is a button under "interface" called "Automaticaly Sort Datapad Contents" make sure this is NOT checked then try this method again

It is very fiddly, I found that you can change the sort order of the draft schematic pane in a certain way it can put them into number order, or at least some semblence of order, in that a few schematics will be next to each other with incremental numbers.
Learning new schematics as you learn new skills tends to mess up the order as well.
Try a few sorts... change the view, order by one of the table headings and change the view again.
See how that goes.

Im assuming that you want this so you can craft the same item repeatedly using a macro with multiple tools. I have found that if you open a crafting session and manually select the thing u want to craft, you can then automatically select it by use of the command "/ui action defaultAction".
This method worked for me the last time I ground a crafting prof
Hope thats of some help

i tried that first

The schematic number for each item is not specific to that item because it depends on which tool you are using, what order you learned the schematics in and if you are by a crafting station or not. The best thing to do is figure out where the schematic is each time you start again.. PITA yes but worth it.

Personally I wish every schematic was assigned a ID #
No matter when you learn or unlearn them,
the # would be the same for everyone at all times no matter the profession.
the # would be the same for everyone at all times no matter the profession.
As we drop boxes or gain them back that schem for a weapons stock will always be #831{ex}
Then you would simply use the ID # itself with correct tool of course.
If you did not have the schem 'learned'
it would tell you you do not have suffeceint knowledge to use schem # blah blah,
or some generic system messge to the same effect.

I do realize that our schem are close to what seem innumerable,
But since every schem is the same identical one in everyone else datapad,
surely it is identified in this way somehow already.

they need to make it so it shows the number when you put the cursor over it or something intellegent like that...... everytime i use this macro its a different way to count that works... this time i had to count left to right then subtract by 3 for everything even after i disabled auto data
*edit* almost forgot that was for everything after 5 and i had to go to about 15 before i got to the only thing i couldnt craft with it.
but anyways im done grinding cm now... its just something that pisses me off

I just updated my crafting macro with it and it was great for when I learned new schematics and the schematic numbers resorted.Instead of specifying:/ui action selectDraftSchematic 01in a macro, and having to deal with figuring out the exact draft schematic number in your datapad (which can sometimes be a pain due to changing numbers, new learned schematics at a new level, and so on), try replacing this line in your crafting macro (the selectDraftSchematic line) with the following:/pause 1/ui action defaultButton/pause 1Now, open up the crafting window of the crafting tool you want to use. Manually select the schematic you want to use with your macro, and click Next, so that you are at the window that lets you load resources into the schematic. Now press Esc to close the window (or hit the little x on the upper right). Now, fire up your crafting macro. The default chosen item to craft will be the one you selected the last time you opened the tool. The defaultButton action and the 1 second pause will select Next for you, bringing up the "add resources" window, and you never need bother with finding a draft schematic number in your datapad again!Message Edited by Warryyr on 03-04-2005 11:18 AM
