Thread: A little tip regarding grouping with pets
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but here goes:
When traveling with you pets you normally want them to group with you so you can see their distance to you and HAM bars. But. When you harvest a creature you DO NOT want to group with them since that will reduce the no. of units you harvest (group harvesting stuff) so you want a quick way to group and ungroup your pets. This can be done with this little alias
/alias tpg /tellpet group
now all you have to do is write /tpg to get all your pets to group OR ungroup. You could also make a macro for it and place that in your toolbar if you have the room to spare.
I wish most peopel actually used the /tellpet xxx command instead of using the commands in /shout it gets very annoying very fast, especially when you are on crowded planets.

/Tellpet doesn't work on droids either and some of my pets won't respond to it.
I started ungrouping pets before harvesting a while ago but found it cumbersome, so I came up with this macro. I only use it when soloing for ovious reasons.
- group
- /pause 2;
- /harvest-hide;
- group
I have 1 set up for hide,bone, and meat.
You have to ungroup before you attack the animals.
Even if you ungroup before you harvest, if you were grouped for the fight the harvest will be reduced.
I checked it out on a few occasions
/tellpet wasn't working for me for a while until I figured out a way to make it work. Maybe it's a bug, maybe not.
When I used single letter commands (ie "a" for attack), /tellpet a never worked. I changed all my commands to full words ( I assume that anything more than 1 letter would work) and then /tellpet worked fine. Never had a problem since then.

This has been my experience too.After switching over to using attack words rather than attack letters (i.e. "attack" instead of "a") /tellpet works beautifully.
does this work evenfor faction pets if i ahve an atst and a GM out will this work for both?
Yes!
It works for my Chared Krevol as well as my Heavy weapons specialists.
