This is a great tip. I use Alias' all the time.

Someone in my guild made a great alias macro that we just had to /load and run and it added all of the guild members to our friends list, complete with comments and groups.

Keep in mind aliases can be called from within macros too.

And a great use is

/alias /chew /tell Chewbacca

Then rather than typing /t Chewbacca, you can just type /chew then what you wanted to say to Chewbacca without having to spell his full name, and the /t.

/chew Hi there wookie

Did they ever remove the obscene amount of spam generated from executing an alias?

If not, it's just not worth it really.

Executing alias --> blah blah -> alias blah blah.

Executing alias --> blah blah -> yada yada.

Yuck.

FYI, you can remove an alias with the /unalias command. "/unalias jentara" would remove it without having to exit and edit your aliases.txt file.

In addition, you can create your own alias file and load it up with the "/load" command. When used by itself, it reloads the alias.txt file, but you can also "/load myalias.txt" or any other file in the proper format. So for example, make a decoration.txt file that you alias in when you're going to be doing a lot of decorating or to share with a friend

Yeah, I use aliases a lot too for cross-server tells to friends. But I use shorter aliases, like /ss for "/tell Flurry.Sha're", ... Good tip.

Now here is a good tip from the players to the devs:

  • "Ifa red nameposts more often on the forums and answers questions/concerns, explains the decisions to enhance/nerf something and provide more details as to future directions of the game, players are happier, flame less and do less trolling. They might even recommend the game to their friends."

That's my TT...

I never knew about the 'alias' command, nice tip

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

Here is a great alias I use:

/alias ff /findfriend

So instead of typing /findfriend <friend's name>- Just do /ff <friend's name>
