Thread: Ohh I just watched the TV ad for SWG!!

Being in the UK we don't get the SWG adverts

So I thought, I share my opinions on it.


"Chewbacca. Yoda , Darth Vader, Bobba Fett, Jabba The Hutt, The Emperor, Luke Skywalker"

"I can actually talk to these people"


Erm....... Since when. You missions from them in a theme park. You meet Yoda ?


"Who hasn't wanted to be on the ship with Han Solo"


Erm... In two years(almost) I have yet to do a space mission with Han Solo.



If there's one thing for sure, they tried to pick the most "ordinary" lookingactors who looked like they might actually play this game


SWG is great fun but the advert is full of misleading information(like all adverts)

They were talking about immersing yourself in the SW universe. Not actual game material. People do want to be on a ship with Han Solo. Well you can't in the game, but you can invite all your friends to pilot your own YT-1300 ship. Still some pretty awesome stuff in the game.


And they did have actual players in those ads. A few of them are Correspondents.

Does anyone know where I can download this commercial..? I highly doubt I'll get it on TV here. Besides, what channel is it on?




-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

Yeah, they're marketing department has always been misleading about jedi, but those commercials tell some flat out lies.

Wasn't him but it was one of his species. Even had someone of that species walking around a cantina in padded armor. Maybe they were going to put the new species in RotW but backed out.

they also say you can play 24/7, as far as i know the servers comes down every day and i doubt 100.000s of people playing swg and i didnt know there was 30+ ships you can take your friends around in as the E3 trailer says.

About that channel.... I normally see it on G4-TechTV. I believe that channel is based in California somewhere, but I'm in Ohio. I have Time Warner Digital Cable and it's Channel 142. It's about once or twice an hour. When I get bored, especially while I'm waiting for the old man, I watch TV, and me being the game nerd I am watch G4TechTV. happy ad watching!
