I seem to have a slight problem here. I wish to place a hospital within my city, however since I am the mayor and also a master doctor it says I have to wait till the city reaches rank 3.
Is there anyway around this like maybe having another master doc place it for me then have him/her transfer the structure back to me? I don't know if this will work but I currently can't think of anything else.
Oh BTW how many lots (if any) does a hospital use?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't believe your city is large enough for that class of structure. You'll need to grow the city to lvl 3.

Well I don't think that is true. There is a village close to us called Strongbadia, rank 2, that has a hospital/medical center already in their city. I checked they are only rank 2 according to the city management terminal. The only other explaination would be that they were rank 3 (township) and were demoted and that structure is now invalid, but it is still there nevertheless.

Thats right, a hospital cannot be placed in a town until the town level reaches rank 3 (35-54 people)
As I recall the hospital takes 5 lots (or possibly 4, I always confuse it with our cantina - so similar after a stim/brandy bender
)

Well that's too bad for Strongbadia then. Because they have one there, and after what you have told me it's now obviously marked as invalid and will be destroyed on their next city update if they can't get back upto rank 3.

Actually if you place a cantina or hospital and then the city shrinks, they don't get destroyed with the updates because they are used on lots and are not acutally civic structures, even though they can only be placed in a city. I actually had one and when the city shrank it was outside city limits and stayed there. And I was driving around Lok one day and came across a cantina and some other abandoned buildings, no city though. But yes, it does need to be a level 3 before the hospital can be placed.

Last post is correct. You need to be the required rank to place Player Owned Cantinas and Hospitals. Once they are placed though, it doesn't matter the rank or even if the city is still there. The cantina and hospital will remain and be fully functional. I would imagine this is because they are Player structures and keeping them from going poof would prevent a negligent or malicious mayor from dumping the city and thereby destroying another players structure. Same reason houses don't disappear if the town goes down. If you want more verification on this just post in the Politician forum and I'm sure you will get similar responses. Good luck.

Player city structures shouldn't need lots IMO.
Guild halls that actually belong to a guild shouldn't need lots, either. Not sure how you would keep people from exploiting this (unless you make it to where only the guild leader can place the halls, and put a limit on them, like 2 per guild or something).
