I'm currently trying to get a ticket to the Corvette through Lt Velso at the Emperor's retreat, but he keeps saying something close to, "I admire your enthusiasm but I see you are already busy. Come back when you are free of your obligation." I have no open terminal missions, no space missions and when I try to take other theme park missions, they're ready to give them to me. No one implies I have anything pending or asks me if I'd like to work for them instead.
Any thoughts on how to clear this so I can continue on with my virtual life?

Hmm. Strange one.
It sounds like you have an NPC mission running, but Lt. Velso doesnt give you the option to cancel it.
You might try taking another NPC mission from an NPC that allows you to cancel your current NPC mission and then complete that.
They say something like "I see you are working from someone else, would you like to work for me instead?"
Sorry I cant remember a specific NPC, oh try the NPC that stands by the door in Tyrena Cantina, the big fat bloke, see if he will allow you to cancel your current mission then go do teh delivery or whatever it is he wants.
Probably a bug, hope that helps.

This is something that happens with the Corvette missions.
You may have taken a mission to get a ticket for the corvette already, from one of the other NPCs. If you did so, until you complete the mission, no one else will give you a mission.
Happened to a guildie. The only solution was to visit all the mission giver NPCs, and once finding out who had given the open mission, cancelling it with that NPC.
