ok iv been playing SWG now for about 2 weeks or so and having a good time but i have afew questions

1. Iv read alot about the teras kasi on these forums, have the problems been sorted out yet and is it still a poor class to be for PvP ? i plan to master this and the other day managed to get my novice teras kasi - should i keep going or am i waisting my time (i really hope im not)

2. having just mastered scout i was thinking of going on to ranger, would this class suit a master teras kasi well or wouldi be better off going down another route...

3. vibro knuckles... what would good stats for these be.. i was looking to buy some more the otherday and the only ones i could find had - damage - min 0 , max 0, wound 33% - i did not buy them as having a 0-0 for both min and max put me off also for weapon speed is higher or lower better ?the ones i use now are 3 iv seem as low as 2.2 and as high as 3.5

4. what sort of arma should i use if any that will give me good protection with minimal damage costs.

thanks

Well I can tell you that your profession of choice is excellent. They have done a lot of changes for the class, and it kicks some serious butt, you will be happy. As far as ranger, I dont see how it would help a TKA, but that would probably be better asked on the profession forum. Be glad you didnt buy the vibro's, those are broken and not worth a nickle. As far as armor, best asked on either the TKA forum or maybe the armor smith forum.

1. It mostly depends on the player skill, being a master TKA doesn't turn a poor player to a "good" pvper.

2. I can only tell you : try it out, you can always surrender the skills you found useless. By my side, I like the exploration line for the burst run efficiency and terrain negociation bonus.

3. about VK, the higher damage ones available on Bria are around 40/150ish at 2.5. About the speed, it depends on your current TKA skills, with Power4, speed isnt no more a factor.

4. The advanced ubese armor has low HAM and a high Kinetic resist.

I would say the majority of the problems have been worked out. There are a few skills that still need some tweaking, but I think the big overhauls have been completed. As for PvP, if you coupled TK with Pistoleer, you would do very well, from what I hear. I don't PvP, so that's only what I've read. In PvE, TKM's are probably the strongest players out there. You are only wasting your time if you are not having fun.

It depends. Ranger is a really good profession and you can lend those skills for a couple things like: (Being coupled with TKM) You can hire yourself out to hunt game, and with your TK skills you can also be the tank, giving any party a fun fight, or you could find with creatures provide the best hides, meat, etc., hunt them, gather the resources and sell them for VERY good money. But once again, its all up to what is fun to you.

VK's the faster the better. 2.2 is good, and is what I use when I use them. I don't think you saw VK's with 0 min 0 max, it may have been a melee powerup, not quite sure though.

The armor of choice, if worn, is usually Advanced Ubese Armor. It has high Kinetic resists with low encumberance.

Hope it all helps!

For a brawler, TKA is a good PvP class. many TKAs are highly effective PvPers, expecially when TKA is coupled with a ranged profession. With the damage mitigation rules coming into effect soon, I'd think that having both a ranged and a melee profession will become more and more of a requirement for high-end PvP.

2. having just mastered scout i was thinking of going on to ranger, would this class suit a master teras kasi well or wouldi be better off going down another route... i also have afew medical skills, and basic cooking i was thinking about doing the cheff skill so i can make stuff to boots my stats

In general, you'll find that specializing in a couple of things will give you a greater benefit than doing a whole bunch of things on a novice level. Certainly keep novice medic. You can use advanced stim Bs at novice medic and heal yourself for about 400 damage a use. Until quite recently, novice scout was generally required for terrain navigation, but with mounts and now vehicles coming out, you may be able to get along without it. I'd also drop chef unless you plan on mastering it, as you can purchase all the buffs you need from other players.

Ranger is certainly a good profession, but it's not exactly combat-oriented. You'll have fun tracking and trapping in PvE, and the camps are extremely cool, but if you want to PvP on a high level, you'll need those skill points for combat abilities.

Basically there are two levels of VKs, regular and high-powered. The high-powered VKs are built using high-powered vibromotors that drop off of Nyms (high-level NPCs) on Lok. A well-built, damage-sliced, high-powered VK will do in the range of 50-200 points of damage at a 2.2 or 2.1 speed. Note, this is a very high end VK, and one that you may not have access to until you can hunt Nyms for your vibromotor. VKs without the power motor will max out around 150 or so if I remember correctly.

As others have pointed out, advanced Ubesse is all the rage ATM for PvE. You can get very good Kinetic protection with relatively low HAM costs. For PvP, there's no substitute for a good suit of advanced composite. Look for at least 60% protections in your composite suit.
