I just spent the last 30 mins looking at all the complants made but the community (including myself)... and i gotta say.... we "Bit*h a lot"

I have lost count of the posts, but we are talking hundreds here.... and thats a lot of flack to take...

Not saying that our complants aren't justified, bugs are bugs after all....

but lets be realistic... these DEVS gotta go threw a hell of a lot of code just to fix a hat or black box.... sure the list isgetting longerand some things had to be put on the side line... but they are getting around to fixing a few things if not makingthem better....

Beside, building a fantasy world base on one mans dream and living up to "millions" of people expectation of said dream is not an easy task.... these guys had their work cut out for them from the get go, and so far i think they have done an "incredible" job on capturing a lot of the star wars feeling....

well at least its enough to keep me coming back.....

anyway.... perhaps the next time you see a dev, perhaps you should shake his/her hand for their hard work before "suggesting" a fix or nerf

if you've played the game you'd see why so many people are upset. For myself...the last 2 days have proved frustrating because 3 of my bounty hunter missions were bugged. that's 1.5 hours of time I spent playing the game for no reason.

ok.... guess playing since spet. 2003 don't count as "playing" the game

like i was saying i know the bugs are there.... but just try looking at it form "their" side of it... having all this negative feedback coming your way... and doing your best to fix it.. yet still not pleasing the few.... its alot to take.... I wouldn't want job....

Being a dev working for SOE is truly a hard job I would imagine. When I was a MBH, man was I a ticked off customer!! Droids never worked, NPC marks were unhuntable, and the list goes on. Nothing worked right for the profession, and there was a dark cloud that gave us BH's very little hope for the future. I dont know if the issue is the management, or the devs being spread to thin. I do know that they must code their butts off every day only to be rewarded with a crap load of more coding to do. Then maybe if they peruse these forums, they see a million posts with negative feedback towards them. They better be gettin paid good, or at the very least have management treat them very well with respect and understanding.

However, I do find myself being a much happier camper after dropping MBH I admit.

Well said. These guys have so much on their plate because of our expectations, and being short-handed through no fault of their own. They're not idiots or hateful jerks out to screw one profession in particular. There's simply a lot of **edit** that has to be done, and it has to be done in stages, one at a time. I'd love for everything to be fixed tomorrow, but it's not gonna happen, and bitching isn't really gonna make the work go any faster. If the Devs spent as much time responding to our groans and complaints as we'd like, they'd never have time to develop anything at all.

From what I see, there are great things coming. For me personally, this is probably the most boring period of the year I've been playing, but I'm seeing it as a simple lull as old **edit** is fixed and new **edit** is patched in. JTL, the Combat Revamp, and GCW revamp (not to mention interim individual profession fixes that will come from the Correspondant meetings) are keeping me going right now... that and looking for that goddam orange rug adhesive

Beautifully put. Talk about a thankless job. I feel sorry for the DEVs more than I get angry at them, mainly because I've never written one line of code in my life, hence I have no experience to back up my complaints. I know what works and what doesn't (been a ranger for almost a year now )

As things get fixed, we as a community look for something else to gripe about. Pub 10 for example. The DEVs delayed it so they could polish it up a little more. People complained. Now imagine if Pub 10 came out last Tuesday and there were a series of bugs that could have been cleared given more time. Can you hear the griping from the community already? Give the DEVs a break. They need it more than we need the Imperial Hat to work, which I STILL own after buying it over a year ago.

I think a lot of the problem comes from prioritization (at least thats the way I see it). Nothing more frustrating than reporting things in Aug 2003 and still seeing the exact same problems with the exact same things today. I mean, hell, if they can't fix something after a year's worth of reporting it, why should I continue to report it if they're just going to blow it off anyway? THATS where a lot of the frustration lies.

SWG is a lot like the Nicotrol System.

With each patch, you're that much closer to quitting.

I've been playing since Beta 3 of the game, and the game seriously should not have been released till Holiday 2003. Not Summer 2003. But oh well.

Heck Boss Nass is still non-communicable at the Gungan Sacred Place.

I gave up sending bug reports on him back in January.

You'd think one of the POI's from the movies with a movie character that is from a canon source would have some neat quests to be able to do, at least for neutrals and coverts.

Maybe if they spent their time fixing what we've already got, rather than adding all this new stuff that's got its own quirks and bugs, people would be more satisfied overall. It's really not too much to expect for someone to do a job right before moving on to the next thing.

SOE's motto should be "There's never enough time to do it right, but there's always enough time to do it over."

Gratitude doesn't pay my monthly subscription, dollars do. Well SOE, "If money is all you love, then that is what you'll receive."

I was at E3 two years ago and was speaking with the lead developer of Warhammer Online. He was telling me that they were ONLY releasing Warhammer in Europe simply because, as he said it, "Americans complain too much."

In all honesty, I have to agree with him. 5 minutes on these forums and it's plainly obvious.

Go look at ANY game released in Europe first. You'll see a tremendous difference.

One star me all you want, it's the truth.
