Thread: 4+4 has been known since Publish 6

I can't believe the number of people writing in "the main thread" who still believe that there was only one silent profession. The fact that there was more than one silent profession has been in evidence for almost six months.

This graph shows unlock rates as of Publish 6. Before Publish 6, people unlocked in relatively few professions, indicating 4+1 (4 holocrons, 1 silent).

After Publish 6, there was a period of almost a week during which few, if any players, unlocked. Someone went through the "number of professions required before unlocking" and started this thread. The evidence six months ago was overwhelming that the holocron system was not 4+1, but actually 4+n, with n=1 at the introduction of Jedi, and n increasing to a number larger than 1 (most likely 4) from time to time.

An exercise: Given the data set of players' "unlocking profession numbers" post-pub-6, assume a 4+n system, and assume a random distribution of profession requirements among the 28 remaining unknown professions, and solve for the value of "n" that best fits the data. I'll wager good money that n=4, and that it's been 4 since at least publish 7, if not publish 6 (for which I'd wager n=2 or 3.)
