Thread: is Vartonis meant to be killed by anything other than a full temp jedi?
Well I am Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer, and though I have yet to beat him, I have figured out how to do so. I can get him down once easily, and got him down to 400 health on the second time, but couldn't hold on long enough to finish the job.
So yes, it is possible. Smuggler is not strong for dmg. If I can do it. You can do it.
(On a side note, I think I actually had an easier time killing Vartonis than most Jedi because it seems to me that he, and many other Mustafarian MOBs, is hightly energy resistant.)

Yeah I am a new melee,I have always been rifleman so i dont know my sword attacks real well. Any tips?
Only advice I can give is use a kinetic weapon, have kinetic armour, if you use armour, and buff up on as much melee defence food and drink as you can. Also, I use the offensive Wind Shard and sith holocron to stop AB. Vartonis is all about attack. Don't bother with defence.
When I fought him, I used all the buffs I could get... doctor buffs and foodstuffs mainly. I didn't use any of the buff crystals either. For food, I used Blob Candy, Spiced Tea, Crispic, Elshandrou Pica Thundercloud (Ranged Defense +), the dodge and block enhancers, and booster blue.
As N'varra says, try that strategy. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. I fought him 2 times before I got my strategy together.
Hope that helps.
I slapped him down no problem with my M.Swordsman/TKM character...
- Take Booster Blue, HAM buffing foods, Vegeparsine, Pikatta Pie, and Crispic before starting the battle with him.
- If you have a Doctor friend, have him give you a full set of buffs right before entering the Lair (not necessary tho).
- Use a good Power Hammer with Speed Powerups (have an extra one out in your inventory too).
- Make sure you use the Mysterious and Powerful Crystal to buff beforehand!
- Use the Wild Shard (Offensive Burst) and Sith Holocron (Forbidden Knowledge I) right before starting.
- Always keep CoB going.
- Keep Armor Break and Bleed going on him, and KD whenever possible.
- Try not to heal and just keep up the attacks.
- Use Synthsteak if you feel you need to.
- Be ready to use KD Recovery, he likes to knock you down a lot.
Other than that, just be sure to heal and regen fully after his first attack before killing all of the 5 mercenaries he sends. That way you're prepared for the second battle. If you could beat him the first time then the second should be no different if you're fully recovered.
Don't forget to loot him!
Question,
I have +16 clothes, jacket pants and sash, with a total mlee defense of 278 with them on. Would I be better with composite armor or this clothing? I am m swords and tkm
