The major issue most people have believing my macro is legit is that there's no given way to get input from a chat window to the macro system. This is a fact. However there are other options that you can do with chat. Like logging it. Logging chat saves it in a text file under the profiles\StationID\Galaxy folder with a 10 digit number followed by _chatlog.txt. Again not too helpful except for one other fact. SWG includes a way to load text files as aliases.

Using /load_alias with the log file as a paremeter causes the macro parser to load the log file as if they were aliases. The normal format of the log file is as follows:

[chat-tab-name] whatever was in the chat tab verbatim.

Also the alias file parser doesn't care if the same alias appears more than once, it just does them in order and if they get overwritten down the line so be it.

The normal format of an alias file is as follows:

alias-name /command(s)

By creatively naming your chat tab, for example "Bot: /dobot", when the log file saves it, it saves it like this:

[Bot: /dobot] chat stuff here

If you notice that now fits in the proper format of an alias file, an alias name ([Bot: ) followed by commands (/dobot with anything in the chat tab as an alias parameter). Since aliases are just replacement strings, anything after the alias is just tacked on to the end of it.

Lets say I have a chat tab named "SysMsg: /dosys"which only has system messages directed to it. A tip would look something like this in the log file:

[SysMsg: /dosys Bob tips you XXXX credits

I can now set dosys to do whatever I want to the phrase Bob tips you XXXX credits, and access the last tip recieved by a simple /[SysMsg:
