Thread: Kashyyyk Station Missions

I'm doing missions for the Kashyyyk platform, the ones where you have to go talk to the pilot of the YT-1300 that's doing civilian patrol around the station.
The mission starts out with you fighting off a few waves of 1 or 2 Tier 5 ships, easy.
Then you get a warning that a gunboat is coming, and when you hit the waypoint, it spawns on top of you and you either gotta die or run away and try to potshot it to death. Or, you have friends who are willing to try to kill it.
That said and done...
You go on, on the *same* mission, and fight off some more waves of 1 or 2 Tier 5s.
And then 2 gunboats spawn on top of you and open fire. I died very quickly.
I've brought friends to help with the first gunboat, and we killed it *only* by me luring it to Kashyyyk station and flying around dodging behind it while the gunboat tried to catch me. It worked, but only barely.
I have no idea how I'm going to deal with 2 gunboats. Any ideas/suggestions? Anyone done these missions? What's the reward? The gunboats don't get distracted by /bomberstrikes and just ignore them and come straight for me. They are also slightly faster than me, and I can only outrun them via boosting.

This is an 'elite' Duty mission so its never ending essentially. I helped a guildmate with this the other day, he in a TIE Oppressor and myself in an M22 Krayt. We took down the first Gunboat with a B/strike and lots of hit and run strikes. The biggest problem with them is the fact they act like a small fighter does, they will actively chase you around ignoring anything else but the person hurting them the most. On top of that they pack a hell of a punch (they took out my 2400 point shields often with a single hit), launch missiles and have a top speed of roughly 900.
When we got the 2 Gunboats we had a another pilot with us (also imperial) which gave us a total of 3 Aces, 2 with B/Strike. I jumped back to Kashyyyk station and sat roughly 2km out. The 2nd Imp pilot dropped a B/strike on one of the gunboats and jumped back to join me. The mission holder than ran at top speed towards the station. Once they got in range the 2 of us waiting boosted in and hit them with everything in one go, missiles, B/strike, everything. Concentrating on one of the Gunboats and using the station for repairs (you CANNOT do it without repairs we found, after 3 attempts) we took down the first in a few minutes and after another 5-10 minutes of fighting got the 2nd.
Then we had more waves of fighters and then a warning again...3 gunboats. We flew in top speed blasting with everything we had left until the mission holder caught a missile up the rear and was blown to pieces.
There is no reward that I'm aware of, simply due to the fact its a Duty mission (hence the name 'Veteran Duty'). But, if you can get a bunch of friends to go along its awesome fun. We are now hoping to organise a guild event for it with POB ships and so on. Should be a blast

No reward eh...well I guess my life suddenly got a lot easier.
Yeah it was *great* fun with friends taking down the first gunboat. We did exactly what you did with the 2 gunboats (using Kashyyyk station as cover and repair). It's plainly impossible without the station, which I'm glad is very near to the spawn points.
Biggest problem I had doing this solo was the time limit. If it didn't have a time limit I can solo the first gunboat (got it down to 0% shields, 15% armor once), but the 2gunboats just hit me too hard on the first volley.
Something this hard should have a nice reward though. I didn't realize it was a duty mission *sighs*.
