Oh, didn't you know that pilots get bonus xp increase the second and third time they go up in a new pilot mastery. Yeah, you actually get it done even faster, oh, and you already earned a heck of a lot more skill in piloting that isn't taken away, its called your own skill.

Stop moaning. There is quite a few people who have mastered more than one pilot ace on a single toon.

I also have a life that I need to lead. I play this game to escape and relax. Not to work even more. On top of that I am paying for it too boot. So take your attitude somewhere else.

This is not a bug or unintended. The rules have been clearly stated: As a Ground Rebel you can be Rebel or Neutral in the sky. Ground Neutral = Neutral in space. Ground Imperial can be Imperial or Neutral in space. It is supposed to be this way. Rebels don't fly imperial ship and vice versa. I've personally ground out 4 aces, and I know people that have done them all. Instead of wasting our time and yours with a post like this, look into what you are doing before you do it.

I don't see it as a waste. A Pilot once is ALWAYS a Pilot. If I learn how to fly a F15 (Air Force) and decide for some reason to switch to another Armed Service, I *can* turn around and fly an F!4 (Navy)with some additional training. My skill would not just vanish miraculously, and make mestart all over.

If there even SHOULD be a penalty for switching Factions in the game (Outside of losing the ability to fly certain ship types, an Imp should never fly an X-Wing for instance), it should simply drop you from Master to 4/4/4/4 so you can re-master in your new Faction. The same goes for switching from a neutral to neutral Pilot. If I'm a Smugglers Alliance Pilot and want to then fly for Corsec, I should simply have to re-master, not grind from the very begininning...

Quote that sums up the current, flawed direction of SWG:
"No, I do everything solo and I see no reason why I should need anyone else"

A way to bring Combatant and Crafter together.

jesus people whine about everything....lemee guess somebody thought he could get the neutral and factional ship rewards from only one faction. and the ace bonus makes it insanely easy to remaster pilot. I've mastered all 3 neutral aces, and 2 imp aces(still waiting for my storm squadron ace badge thanks SOE). and yes if i want the vissiok i know i have to grind back up neutral pilot...either that or make some friends in the game, have me get the mission and have them run it.

Geez don't make it look like I wrote this... I think that you should have to regrind everything. That's what makes it fun. The final mission isn't nearly as hard as grinding up to it... and even that's pretty easy. If you didn't "have" to do more missions what would be the point of switching factions? The only thing I don't agree with is "imperial aligned" or "rebel aligned" neutral factions. But whatever... if you want advantages of being a certain neutral squadron grind away. It isn't that hard.

What ever you do - don't change your faction if you plan on playing in Wookiee World. A faction change will drop your factioned pilot skills and since a bunch of the missions there have space missions as a part of the missions, you won't be able to do them if you drop your pilot skills (read Change your faction).

Effectively, ROTW locks people into their faction if they want to do the quests with the space portions.

Nicemove devs, make it so people can not take advantage of the CU tochange sides if they wish. Instead youlock them out of content so that they have to grind another 20 hours in space.

Let me ask a question - Does an armorsmith lose all of his skills if he changes faction? NO - they lose the ability to craft faction armor, but not the ability to make armor. Why does a pilot lose all of his/her skills? I'll tell you why - its another poorly thought out game mechanic.

No wonder people quit this game in droves. This is so stupid its laughable.

True, but you're still within the "same" faction. Now turn around and try to fly a Soviet MiG (any variant) First off, you'd have to retire/go awol/or somehow quit the US military and join the Russian military. And I garauntee they will start you close to the bottom of their ranking structure again and won't let you fly the good stuff right from the start.
