I've seen people selling what actually looked like Lightsabers on the Bazaar, I thought only Jedi could make them though? or can they be looted off Dark Jedi??

In beta there were people who carried around items that looked like lightsabers. Can't remember what they were. Looked exactly like lightsabers when wielded. I was fooled at first.

i know someone who has obtained a broken lightsaber...but not much he can do with it lol

The ones I seen on the Bazaar look just like a lightsaber except they didnt have the blade part, but the looked identical to them! But at 3000 credits??

Think what you're looking at is a spray stick. Someone I was grouping with had one and it looks like a lightsaber handle, or at least did to me from a distance

Non-Jedi's can use Lightsabers, but the damage is more than halved. This has been stated by a CSR already, just forgot when, where, who.

there is a bug that allows you to get infinitely many broken lightsabers as you want..

sounds like the Wookiee Bowcaster, anyone can weild it, but only wookiees use it to it's maximum potential, on the bottom of it's description it says "Can be a powerful weapon when the proper person uses it" or something like that.

Saw 4 for sale on the Baazar in Bestine (Chilastra) for 1500cr each. All posted by the same guy which to me rules out getting them from Dark Jedi...

Hi I was wondering if Light Sabers are a Jedi only weapon, an if not do they fall under fencer or swordsman?

That comment was uncessary Durran, all he was asking was if you had to be a Jedi to have a lightsaber. Please be adult and avoid flaming just because you've read too many Jedi threads.

As to the question of lightsabers, I believe they are a Jedi only weapon. Or at least that's what previous threads in these forums (can't remember which ones in particular) would lead you to believe.

According to what I've read, you can use a lightsaber without being a Jedi, but if you're not a Jedi a lightsaber won't do that much damage because only Jedi can weild it effectively. I've also read that you need to be a Jedi to constuct a light saber, so the only way to obtain a lightsaber besides actually being a Jedi is to get it from another player who is a Jedi. And since Jedi's are cursed with permadeath, and don't wish to reveal themselves to anybody, it's unlikely they'll be advertising or selling light sabers. Personally I think it's not worth the effort considering it won't help you much in battles.

Also, I think the light saber falls under two-handed sword skill if you're curious.
