(I can't post this anywhere else, maybe TH will read it and pass it along)
Devs:
Your playerbase knows that SWG is huge when it comes to the number of items. It was inveitable that you would eventually have database problems. It will get worse when the JTL comes out.
My ideas:
1) Increase the size of resource stacks to 500k. Instead of 5 x 100k objects, you have 1 x 500k object. Savings = 4 objects.
2) Increase the size of factory crates to 100 (or even more). Instead of 4 x 50 crates, you have 1 x 200 crate.
2) Stack loot items that have the same serial number. Instead of 5 janta hides, you have 1 stack of 5. Savings = 4 objects.
3) Allow us to re-stack items. If we pull an object from a crate, let us put it back into the crate if it hasn't been used.
Nerfing merchants won't help with your problems. The objects are already out there. There is little you can do with them now.
You wouldn't have to do huge changes either. You could slowly increase the limits to see how they affectthe database.
Increasing limits will also eliminate some things such as 1) People putting up so many houses and 2) Cross-server house trades.
Just some ideas that hopefully reach the devs.
