Thread: role playin seems to be the key

Last weekend a friend of mine could of gone paddy(friend in real life). Being a jedi since jan and a knight for about 3 months or so, i natually bitched at him(even though i knew i was wrong and he knew it too) tellin him to go paddy when he could,since its what he wanted for a VERY long time. He waited tell he got 20k jedi and master fencer so he could start off with novicer ls. Well, all the waiting was worth it, at least for me.
I am not big at all on role playing. He got padawan then came to my small house on core(which we made private, it was my old shop, so i removed the vendor(the one sayin i moved next door)and made it so)
I precided to bring my knight(for those on chilistra, 2 places udont wanna get drunk then log ur knight on,are dant imp post and lok sp, but luckly no run ins for me...both times)to core.
In the main room of a small house we met(moved all crap cept 1 candle)
In my drunken state(and yea we wer on the phone rambling, well at least i was) I said this, more or less, well yea now that i reread it,m it was more, but u get the idea:
"My young Padawan(i acually had to have my friend spell that for me).
We have watched your progress wellas ajedi and have accepted you to the light side.
May the force be with you.
::bowed head:::
::he put on his paddy robe for the first time::
we then dueld(no specials, well i did do a few cascades of hatred at the end, but i ended before it got tooo bad)
Sadly no suprising end.
All i can say is that this was a sh*tload of fun. I have had more fun doin this role playin thing with my friend, then i have pvping, hittin turrets, or killing high end mobs. Drunk I may be, but for those of you who say you are tired of this game and wanna quit and well who dont role play much, give it a shot. You may find more fun then u think
And again, more went on then what i typed, cuase we were on the phone the whole time, but it was frun, me in my knight robe, him bowing to me, then accepted me as his master and him my padawan, it was just great.
So if ya tired of this game, do some role playin, i know ima do more now

Well it is a MMORPG those last three letters standing for Role Playing Game. I think if poeple actually did roleplay like you did everyoen would have more fun.

totally agree it - its a role playing game - sadly the non-role players pay aswell so we are stuck with them sadly

ummm yeah duh I knew that...man oh man what I wouldnt do for a permanent RPers server only. I would be there in a snap.

A roleplay server would be a great idea, I know people would make charcters there, I know I would. Its dumb to be playing a game set in the star wars universe and have it just degenerate into constantly killing things and griefing each other in pvp.
Only thing, you got to have some sort of 'policing' system on the server itself to boot people who are going to go on the rp server just to ruin everyone elses fun. Like extra attention on complaints from players. And slap a big warning when first making a character that explains that 'this is an rp server, players disrupting the enviroment will be banned from this server'.
Draconic, but screw, no one is forcing you on the rp server, play on the other 20 whatever servers.

Is there some kind of reason why non-RPers are stupid? It may be an RPG, but its also a video game as well.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of roleplaying using this game. But I have friends that don't. They just play the game.

As long as there is a way to get rid of all the "Black-Clothing Clad, Milk-White Skinned Dark, Morose Badass who glares at everyone and is also a master jedi but forgot how to use his force powers or something". I'm really tired of seeing them.

Sometimes it becomes very hard to RP amidst the masses of non-RP'ers and all the grinders

Thats is correct but sadly with not advertised as much. We have great RP guilds and cities also here SUch as which I man and its an all trandoshan guild and which is an All wokkie guild and if you want great Rp for to Farpoint on Tatooine.
I mainly stay on tat so i dont travel much but there are tons of stuff to do on all the other plantes also.
