So, I was doing my usual make Rancors go squishy for Hide and meat when out of an enrage rancor lair, a creature named "a monstrous brute" spawns. Wasn't any tougher than an enraged, nor did it drop anything. Gave extra hide though :-D. Anyone else run into this thing? I got a screenie of the corpse too if you want me to post it.

According to swgcreatures.com it's a "Boss that spawns at the end of a Enraged Rancor lair".

Nothing unusual I'm afraid, you get them every now and then, even quenker lairs sometimes spawn something, just as the lair is about to die.
I guess it just keeps you on your toes, ie make sure you still have enough HAM left to deal with it

It happens with variousMOB lairs, when you get near to killing the lair off. I've had it happen with several types of lairs on Yavin IV, as well as Dantooine and Dathomir.

Yes in the quenker lairs sometimes "a terrible Quenker" sits and waits for you.
But the only terrible thing is that he dies as fast as the others

Ahhh yes, beware the Lair Bosses.
My mistake (you only do it once) was trying to clear the way to put down some harvesters. I picked on a Rot Mite lair! easy little bugs, happily plucking away killing all of them as they came, switch to the lair, kill some more (all unbuffed, but plenty of heals) then all of a sudden Rot Mite Queen! As if that wasn;t bad enough, 6 Rot Mite Soldiers with her! All had thousands of HAM (compared to the normal 600 for a rot mite).
As an unbuffed crafter, to say I was in the doo doo is an understatement. Thankfully I had left my swoop out, so a quick jump onboard and I was fleeing for my life!
On the plus side, they all chased me, leaving my Combat Probot (who was helping out with the hunt) blasting away at their lair!
Go back 10 mins later, no lair! yay!
Oh, and no droid, the queen must have returned and blown it up ! LOL

Its based on mission level...if you get a normal level 84 or 99 Enraged rancor mission, youll only get enraged rancors...somewhere in the 150s you start getting Enraged Bull Rancors out of the lair..and I think its the level 199+ level missions that will spawn the monstrous brute...check mission level when you view the mission for a peek at what will be waiting for you

A boss can be in any lair.
I've had a Cu Pa lair spawn one.
I've also had a Zuca Boar lair spawn one.
I think it is random.
