First off, what tier pilot are you? I had troubles with my 2221 pilot but my 4444 pilot got him no problem. The thing is, there is a timer that you have to engage him in BEFORE the timer runs out or he jumps. Low level pilots and ships just don't have the speed to get to him in time even if you're constantly on your boosters....Also, because he appears in about the same place every time, figure out the nearest hyper point and go to that one every time. You can also, when the wp to him first appears, open your datapad, click on the mission wp, create a NEW wp there. Then when you have to restart it, instead of waiting for the wp to download and you lose up to 15 seconds of just sitting there, you can gun your engines and get moving that way asap.

But no, it's not bugged.

i failed this for the same reason twice, both times i traveled to dantooine and launched into same from there. got it on the third time by jumping in, landed me 2k away from him instead of 7k

I attempted this mission last night. I am 2222. I was able to get there in time and disable his engines. He was still firing at me so I tried taking out his weapons and accidentally destroyed the ship. The quest shows that I completed this phase, but when I go to Boba, he's like what are you doing here? and he wont give me the mission again. I know I wasn't supposed to blow him up but how can I get the mission again?

You have to talk to the informant in the spaceport to get the mission again, not Boba Fett.

I had a lot of fun working for Fett... but this mission was a minor annoyance. If you fail it though you do get to talk to the dude whom you brought the finger to... and he will give you another chance...

his script is also very funny.

Speed is the key to gettign this one done, but beware even if you are able to disable it, the guy will get away from you after escorting him. This is part of the mission.
