Thread: CL visabilty and the effects on PvP

Okay, here's the situation . . .


One day I saw someone calling out looking for duels . . . he was CL80 and to me (and my CL56) it was like . . . why would I want to duel someone who I know has a higher CL. With the abilty to see someone's Combat Level . . . (or the inability to hides one's combat level) why would we ever get involved with PvP unless we areselves were also the highest CL?


PvP will be reduced to only super-combat types withj a CL80 rating. It may already be this way . . . . just my opinion.

Ya you would think the option to hide your CL would be the FIRST thing they'd think of. It's so stupid!
Not just for combat professions, but what about dancers, musicians, Image designers and crafters? Not that it effects "PVP" for them, but since the number above their head means absolutely nothing is there really a reason we need to see a big number "1" above our heads All the Time?

We all need the option to hide CL, along with Badges. They do it for Faction rank, profession, helper/roleplayer titles. Come on Devs, a lot of people would like some options.

tbh combat level was probably another step of un-swg'ing swg. Snares, roots, levels. EQ?

I do like snares and roots in the 'sense' of what they do and how they can be used but were talking about CL hehe so

Anyway, yeah i think you should be able to disable the CL as it causes alot of chaos sometimes in gaining a full high lvl group for fast grinding or dant or stating the obvious fact "your a higher lvl than me, why should i duel when we know the outcome".

I overall truthfully think CL should be removed anyway but it aint gonna happen is it

PVP has always been the end-game goal. Before, you would get a template together by doing a bunch of PVE missions (I miss wiping out quenkers one victim at a time...). Now, you just do missions, build to CL80, then go out and wreck in PVP.

PVP combat is not going to be tuned to the medium levels in the game...it's meant for the upper eschelons and only that. Other aspects of PVP (healing, crafting, etc) are open to the lower levels, but to be effective you have to be masters of those areas.

Just my two cents...
