Thread: Please Help a New Old Player

I have not played SWG in about a year. My main charachter is almost a master Artisan and a master Marksman. I read about the changes to the combat system, and I have a few questions. If read correctly certifications for certain armor and weapons have changed and are not available for just starting out players and as you progress in level, you will be granted more certifications. So, why can I not wear the suit of padded armor that I had before and use the three very expensive weapons that I had used in the past, my charachter should be advanced enough to use those items? If anyone can help clairfy me on these issues, I would appreciate it.

Padded Armor is now "Battle Armor", so you'd have to be say a Doctor or Carbineer to be certified for that. Marksman, even Master, isn't certified for armor.
Same with the weapons, there's some weapons with no certification only level restrictions you can use, but most of the good guns of old days have been moved towards the elite professions. Like the T-21, which used to be Novice Rifleman I think is now Master Rifleman.
The Weaponsmith forums have a great guide that lists all the weapon certs and what levels/skills you get 'em at.
