Thread: +25 cap on skill mod additions what contributes to this?

I know that the maximum that you can add to any one skill mod with SEA's is +25. I am just wondering if it is only AA's and CA's (and presumably any BE mods on clothing)that count toward that limit, or if any other bonuses (e.g., FS skills, bonuses built into weapons, etc.) count as well.

From my understanding, mods on equipment items all count towards the +25 cap. So BE-enhanced clothing, looted clothing with built-in mods, clothing / armor with SEAs, and bonuses on a weapon are capped at +25 total across all equipped items. These bonuses show up as a second number on your skill sheet. For example: "Ranged Defense 90 / 115" would mean you have +90 from skill boxes and +25 from clothing / weapons.

Mod bonuses from skill boxes (including the FS boxes), food and being lead by a Squad Leader are separate, and do not have a cap associated with them. These bonuses add to the first number listed in the skill mods. So if you had "Ranged Defense90 / 115" and drank a Thundercloud with +90 ranged defense, your skillsheet should show "Ranged Defense 180 / 205".

I think the key to the capping is that the second number is treated as being no more than 25 above the first number. At this time, if you equip +30 worth of clothing, you'll still see "Ranged Defense 90 / 120", but dev comments have stated that only the first +25 count, and they'll eventually be fixing the UI to display the capped value.

I guess you are not right about bonuses in weapons
IMO, thats a different bonus, and does not add to +25

I just checked my Feather to see where the 15 Acc went and it was on the second set of numbers, so weapon skills more than likely contribute to the 25

Assuming that you'r referring to a +15 Accuracy Bonusthat's lited on the stats for your pistol, and youmean that the second number for your accuracy mod on your control-S window increases when you equip it, I can't reproduce that result. I just tried equipping two different rifles that each had an accuracy bonus, and neither of them changed either my General Ranged Accuracy or my Rifle Accuracy mods. Is that what you were referring to, or did I misunderstand you?

Incidentally, you can add PSG's with an accuracy bonus to the list of things that are apparently included in the +25. At least mine does increase the second number when I equip it. If that's true, I wish that had occurred to me earlier, because I needlessly spent a lot of money on SEA's trying to cap an accuracy modthat was already capped!

MyFeather has Pistol Accuracy +15 built into the gun, I've just droped all my Pistol skills, got naked (the girls ran away) and my skill for Pistol Accuracy is +0/+15 in the skills window. So it looks like mods in guns count towards the 25

Are you talking about the stat labeled "Accuracy Bonus," (right underneath the "Damage" stat) or a stat that shows up at the very top of the rifle description uner a header that I think is labelled "Skill Mods?" I suspect that we may be referring to two different things. if the latter, I think those mods are basically the equivalent of an SEA being attached to the weapon (for lack of a better way to describe it), whereas the Accuracy Bonus is a stat that does not figure into your player accuracy mods and does not change your visible stats, but is still somehow part of the damagecalculation when a shot is fired. I'm still trying to figure out myself exactly what the Accuracy Bonus does.

The pistol has Pistol Accuracy built in as a SEA. I was reffering to the post about weapon skills don't count towards the 25 (Looks like they do) AFAIK Acc Bonus has nothing to do with your skills. It's based against the targets defense. There was a big post on the WS fourm ages ago that explained it. I'll try to find the link when I can.
