Alright, so I've been through Fort Tusken a few times, picked up some crystals from NPCs that I've been fighting, and I just want to know a few things:
1. What distinguishes a crystal as "quality" or "premium"? Are these arbitrary distinctions, or are "quality" crystals actually named such?
2. Is a higher condition more desireable in a crystal? What about the difference between colored and colorless crystals?
I might add more questions as I think of them, but that's everything for now.
Thanks in advance,
Vazh

Only a jedi can tell if a pearl is quality, poor, fair any of that. you have to be a jedi in order to see this. Higher condition is nice but with an ADK'd sabe rit doesnt matter.
As for color vs colorless, colored are needed to give the blade color all are the same and color usually sell cheap (except sunriders and banes heart which are special) the color give bonuses such as lower speed, added min/max damage, and lower force cost

Clearcrystals are actually distinguished by name as Premium, Quality, etc. However, only Jedi can see these titles when inspected. You can show your crystals to a Jedi in your trade window, and he/she can determine it's quality for you.

Yes, as with any item that decays, higher condition is desireable. Bear in mind however, most Jedi have their sabers ADK'd and don't incur crystal degredation.
Colored crystals determine the color of the saber blade and add an additional 20% elemental damage to the weapon. They're all the same, so unless the Jedi is using a Bane's Heart or Sunrider's Destiny crystal, it's just personal preference.
Clear crystals are the valuable ones. These are the ones that make or break a saber. They determine the final damage and force cost of the saber. Higher quality crystals have a better chance of tuning to a high damage-low force cost final product. Thus the concern over the fact that "select", "premium", and "flawless" crystals and pearlshaven't been lootedpost CU.
I might add more questions as I think of them, but that's everything for now.

Thanks so much! Crystals make so much more sense now.
