How to I make this Gel packit work? So for next time I go down I won't have to worry about that horrible gas eating away at me.

if you are buffed when you are in the mine, the gas does no noticable damage.

if you are unbuffed in the mines, you will find yourself asking for rez's every 3 minutes.

I think you need a crafter (not sure which one) to combine the Alum Mine gelpack with the Rebreather from Geonosian cave.

Alright, I'll try and make this as clear as possible.

There's a large room that you're forced to go through to get through the mines. This has 3 levels. The top level is where you enter, the middle one has a few NPCs on it, and the bottom level has some more NPCs and a SBD as well as a glass barrier. If you head left, you get to the droid terminal. If you head right, you're going the way to the mines. As you pass through there, you'll come to an area where you can either go straight and run into an SBD or turn left and run into another SBD. Going left takes you down the ramp and is the path to the mines - you don't want to go there yet.

Head forward (walking, as to not aggro the SBD on the ramp) and continue forward. Continuing along this path will bring you to a room with a workbench and a rebreather filter dispenser, as well as a conversable NPC. The workbench is where you modify the rebreathers.

You need, last I checked, at least Engineering 4 in order to do this. The process has never worked when we did it, and has always ate our items and given us nothing in return, but in theory it should spit out a modified rebreather. That's a huge pain though, because wearing a rebreather means you can't wear a helm. The best solution, if you're concerned about the gas, is to talk to the NPC. He offers a mission to fix the ventilation down there. Doing this will make the air in the mines breathable.

The quest involves escorting a droid into a nearby room where he then goes to a toolkit and proceeds to fix the ventilation, all while being aggrod by a ton of Deathwatch and any droids you may have following you from before. This quest is pretty buggy too, and works maybe 1/10 times. If the droid turns around before it gets to the room, just kill it and have someone else take the mission. It's an absolute pain to get it to work, and I've got no idea what's braking it.

However, the previous posters were correct. The gas does very little to a buffed person. Unbuffed, it will take about 50% of your Health and Action out in one shot, and for some reason Wookies seem to be hit by it randomly even while buffed. We call it the wookie gas in our group, and laugh at the few Wookies we have with us as their HAM diminishes.

Hope that helped.

Ok thanks so much. Thing is why I'm worried about the gas is because much like the wookie thing it too kills me. Been down there twice and my team likes to stop at the mining forman and wait there for about 30-60 min Anywase uselly while incombat the gas bearly effects me some times it doesnt even do any damage. Well after about 5 min in the caves a get a short burst of lag and then i find my self dead on the floor. Nothing was targeting me or attacking and only thing Iwas takingdamage from currently was the gas (this happened both times i was in the mines) Of course since im ranged support and the tanks taunt everything to them I rearly get attacked if never during my DWB runs *unless takes die of course* It still ruins the run for me though if I have no buffs cause about two hits from anything down there will kill me. So I am willing to take the risk and not have this strange lag massive gas damage then keep my helm on. Thats why I wanted to know and I thank you a lot 5 stars for you!
