A few people who are glowing (non-hologrinders) have had visits. I have been glowing since server restart yesterday and no visit yet.

I guess if you were glowy when Pub 10 came, you qualify now. If you went glowy after Pub 10 came, you wait. No timetables yet.

My question is concerning the wait list. If you fall in the class of people who logged in yesterday and was not glowing, but then you completed enough poi's and theme parks to obtain the "glowing" status. So everyone says you are either in group 4 or group 5?
So what that tells me is you are going to have to wait 3 to 6 months or more before you get a visit by the old man. Now if this is true, then by the time the 6 months or so rolls around you are going to have hundreds and hundreds of more people that will have obtained the "glowing" status besides all the people that are already in group 4 or 5 waiting for the old man, so do they join the already hundreds and hundreds that are waiting or are they going to add additional groups based on when they receive the"glowing status" and keep pushing people back further and futher before they can receive a visit from the old man?

their is no way that i'm waiting 1, 2 or 3 months before the old man shows up. All i want is the extra FS defence and speed bonus, i have have no plans on getting a jedi. Why should i have to wait until someone else is done with village. They better come up with answers fast! At least tell me that i have to wait 3 months for the old man to show so i can cancel my account now!

Im with you, I wasnt glowing when I got on becauseI didnt see a reason to go and try and play through broken and/or camped "Content".... So If i have to basically wait ANY amount of time more then someone whoin all possibilities has been playing for only a month. I'll be out of here to.... At this point though I would just like a straight answer from a dev on this group thing.

I'd put money on 3-6 weeks myself. I seriously doubt that we'll have to wait that long. They're simply trying to keep the lag under control on Dath by slowly trickling people into the vilage to see how much load the server can handle before it craps out. Once they get that figured out, they'll remove the gating in such a way that keeps people constantly rotating through the vilage (lets face it, once you unlock your branch, there's no reason to stay there right? Come back on the next phase).
The hardest challenge they have to face is the number of people who visit on the first day of a new phase - the phase 2 shift will not be that bad as there wont be as many people who can get there as say... when phase 1 comes around again.

I am not ussually one to come here and complain about the system but I have played since launch and was not glowy when I logged in on patch day. I only needed to visit the dantooine temple which I did when I logged on. So now I am glowy. I log in every few days look around and go do something more rewarding in RL ocasionally checking if my friends log on. Usually they don't so I just log out. It is not like I hate the game or am addicted to grinding or anything like that. I like my template and have visited all the prime hunting locations and searched the planets for all the pretty sights. Other than finishing off the corvet and doing the few remaining POI's (which almost always suck), there is not a whole lot of stuff left for me to do. I can still hunt for loot but that gets old when you have to spend 3 hours looking for a mob then another hour killing it only to get nothing 75% of the time. I have a life and can't devote that kind of time to SWG. If I have to wait a week that is fine but if I have to spend 15 dollars amonth for 3 or 6 months just to log in and wait for an old man to visit then SOE can kiss my ass. I have stood up for the devs and SOE on numerous occasions and have gone out of my way to keep this game interesting by making my own content. Hell, as long as we are still just guessing at how it will work then I will still support SWG but if I don't get visited in the next month then I don't think I can justify paying for this anymore. I love this game and I see so much potential in it and if I quit I am sure I will miss it but after the CB, smugglers revamp both get pushed back till JTL SOE only has one strike left with me. I really hope this is not it.

Not to flame but getting badges is not that hard and does not require much RL sacrifice. Everyone knew the new system was going in and if you wanted to make sure you qualified all you had to do was read the TC forum.
Thats what I did and on patch day I was glowing.
