Anyone had any problems with this? he tells me to go to the abandoned imp camp in the forest, so i go to the one with the imp flags etc and find an equiptment box ( is this correct? ) and i select use on that item and it does nothing, i go back to him and he tells me to hurry up and get his equiptment back 
Anyone got a solution or any advice??

Yes, IIRC, you have to first go to the camp in the dead forest, the one with the scout troopers, then you go to the other camp, the one on the SW corner of the map.

Same here. The first camp is not POI and is in the NE corner and I killed the imps and can target the crate but nothing happens and the same in the camp in the SW. I've already moved to another quest but if someone knows whats up with this let us know.

This is correct. You need to go to BOTH camps. One is the POI. The other one is a non-poi on the SW corner of the map. Go to the Non-Poi first, then to the POI camp. You should get what you need from one of the boxes there. Have helped several people do this and this way works every time.
