I got this SEA Combat Med Exp +9 and before I put this on auction or sale I'd like to know where it goes to.

It looks like a red crystal.

Someone replied to my price check thread and said it's just an ornament but having hard time believing it lol.

Thanks all

I think that the person who told you that was correct - I believe it is just an ornament, but why not submit aticket and see if you get a definitive response?

Hmm I have sent a ticket to CSR and got a reply saying that they cannot provide me with information because it is considered as game "tip" "hint" and so on.

I hope its not just a ornament, why have skill mods on them! lol

I've been told two diffirent things about the modded crystals, one is by just having it in your inventory you get the mod and the other is that it should be a ca/aa and by contacting acsr they may change it to such. Best thing to do is hunt out a cm on your server and have him put it in his inv and test it.

I've seen these around, but never came across a good explanation.

One theory is that they are just clothing/armor attachments with bugged art. You could try dragging it onto a socketed piece of clothing, although if it works that might make it a bit harder to sell (since the buyer wouldn't be able to add it to a clothing slot they currently have empty).

Another theory is that at one point attachments were going to be allowed in weapons, either during crafting or applied afterwards, and these were accidently left in the loot table for that functionality. Skill mods on weapons aren't completely unheard of, a lightweight FWG gives bonuses to accuracy and dodge. A similar idea was that these are for lightsabers (although I think I saw a Jedi somewhere state that these crystals can't be put into a saber).

A final theory is that they act like the "charms" in diablo 2, whereyou get the skill bonus by just having the item in your inventory. Do you have any extra CM experimentation skill mod in your character sheet that you shouldn't have while carrying this around?

just a thought.. there are looted weapons with skill mods, right?

and those non-CA and non-AA SEAs looks like crystals, right?

maybe these SEA crystals add skill mods to lightsabers?

I'm pretty sure that before CA and AA were implemented SEAs were all there was and could be put in any wearable. The art is correct they are supposed to look like that and crystals are actual copies of the artwork from these. They were never implemented though and do not work with anthing so i'm not sure why they are entering the loot tsables now though. Could be something for the future that the devs just wanted to get in now. Or they coulkd have just been left in the .tre files because the devs didnt care about getting rid of them and some error in the coding for the new patches bumoed them into the loot tables. One thing is cerain though they do not work at all.
