It took me a few trys but here is how I did it.

The point that it leaves the system and you fail the capture isapprox. -7065, -2804, -4013. I took out the 4 escorts, the turrets, and both shields. Followed the vette until it got about 900m from that point. We got to the station and the vette jumpe out for a pass right as the first gun boat spawned.

Missiles come to mind, this mission should be a breeze for any experience pilot, really, just pack up some missiles (I prefer Mark III concussion) take out the escort at the beginning, and just coast behind the vette until it reaches 1 km from the point at which it leaves, there, you just go up right behind the engines, target each component (Shield --> Secondary Shield --> Engine) and it's disabled, usually takes about 2-4 missiles, and you can do it without getting hardly a scratch, even from the gunboats that soon come.

My friend did it this way:

1) Killed turret 5

2) Followed the Corvette through space, hiding in the blind spot created by killing the 5th turret. The Corvette will head toward the space station you need to escort it to.

3) Once you get close, finish disabling it, and then you only have to guide it a few hundred meters to complete the mission. You can finish before the gunship even shows up.
