1) Getting Started

The Bounty Hunter profession is an interesting and popular profession. But none the less it can be a pain for a few and in this guide i hope to clear this up for you. This guide will explain locations the hot spots and nice templates to get for you newer players. Anyways if you do wish to become a bounty hunter and work hard then i encourage you to do so because its a very exciting and fun profession. But if your not up to it, there are always tons of other fun things to do in the game of course.

2)Skills Requirements

Alright, so you want to be a bounty hunter huh? Well first before you can get Novice Bounty Hunter, first youll need some marksman skills youll need the whole line of Ranged Support, and from scout youll need the whole line of Exploration,(this can be done easily as all you need to do is get in a group and harvest all you need shouldnt take long at all). Once you have that you now qualify for Novice Bounty Hunter. But now youll see that bounty hunter branches off into 4 different branches first one on the left is the Investigations line of BH. This one can be tough and we will discuss more of it later. The second on the left would be Weapons Training which requires Carbine XP easily gained in a group. The next would be Subjagation which is pistols xp and guess what the next one is? Yah your right the next one requires rifles xp what a suprise hehe its called Dirty Tricks. These three branches are the easy stuff. Now one to the hard part.

3) Investigation (note best place to start off is in Mos Eisley, there is a bh terminal by the cantina and on your way out to junk town, the spy op is in the trainers plaza outside the starport)

Alright this branch requires a special type of xp, called Bounty Hunter xp. This type of xp can be obtained by doing NPC missions at bh mission terminals. At first its easy theyll all be on the same planet. You first go to a bh mission terminal and since you dont have anything in invest. yet youll need to talk to a lvl 1 spy op after you get your mission(locations of terms. and spy ops in section 6.) Also note that you only can carry one bountyhunter mission at a time. After you talk to your spy op youll get a waypoint (wp) This is where you target will be now you can go there and kill your target but you are the only one who can attack him now after a recent patch made it that way, but you can have someone heal you to help you out if need be. After the mission is done you now have been awarded your credits, and your xp. But heres the nice part sometimes if your lucky you may get some nice stuff when you loot your target. Some things are some smuggling slice parts, bh armor schems, saber crystals, armor and clothing attachments and many more things are possible to get in bh missions. (npc mission are the only ones you can actually loot on not pvp jedi missions) After you qualify for Invest. 1 dont get it! Not yet at least because trust me its so much easier just to wait and cap your xp and get 2 because then your on an easier route and you can also do this with 3 trust me its just that much easier. When i did this i planned it out like days because i knew it would take a long time so i set up a plan like do 5 missions a day and be done in a week or 2, or you could just do it all at once it doesnt matter how you approach this.

Alright once you get the ability to use droids it can be confusing at first. To set things straight some pple might think you need to go to every planet and set out a seeker. NO this is not necessary at all. You need an arakyd probe droid to do this, these droids are used to track the target to the planet. To use them you get out of town and find an open place and call one down with the item you have.

Now once youve tracked the target to the planet you now need to use these seeker droids to track your target for they like to move which can get annoying at times (special note: usually they head towards an npc city, after a few times moving you can get the general direction of where there going this may help you get them tracked better)

For pple who are in the middle of the bh grind... The coronet is a nice place to grind as it has a Spy Op and Terminal right next to each other. And if yoru smart you can find and easy way to use that as an advantage hehe

As for you lvl 3 and up Invest's and Master, Naboo is where you want to be Kaadara to be precise.

Mos Eisley: If you go down the alley between the Starport and the Medical Center, then go to your right, along the left row of houses are two terminals. Those would be a bit closer than the terminals on the way out to junk town and maybe just as close as the terminals near the cantina. Investigation 3-4-Master: Another good location would be Dearic. Terminal at the cloning center, Inv 3-4 SpyNet in the Starport area, Master SpyNet behind the cloning center.

Seeker Droid Options

Identify Target: Gives the name of the Jedi your tracking

Tracking : Gives updated information on where your target is (will eventually stop and you will need to send another tracking)

4) Weapons and Useful Items

Weapons

Trandoshan Rifle ~ schem can be recieved after unlocked box on avatar platformProton Carbine ~ Special quest done on Kashyyyk, on the Ryyatt Trail

Heavy Lightining Rifle ~ Can be bought from a weaponsmith vendor

High Cap. Scatter Pistol ~ Same as Rifle

(the ranged cyber arms are also useful can be bought for around 1 mill or get them doing the doctor's quest in the myydrils cave and the other one in bestine talking to the guy in the cantina)

Foods anything that will help your accuracy or any regen on your HAM (health, action, mind) these are important with doc buffs when fighting jedi. I cannot stress this enough.

B.E. clothing with melee defense also help tons alone with my be clothing i get an added 50+ melee defense which helps tons trust me.

Armor with good stats is almost mandatory but if you wanna go fight jedi in your shorts to make a statement by all means go ahead.

any other weapons you like to use plz post

5) Templates

Great temps are as follows...

MasterBountyHunter Master Rifleman w/ 4xxx Combat Medic ~ This temp. can dish out nice damage and has fair acc. and speed and you also have the stuff to be able to take what the jedi dishes yah and you have decent healing abilities

MasterBountyHunter MasterCombatMedic w/ xxx4 Pistols ~ Great temp debuffs are awesome against jedi, and the stop shot will work nicely to keep him still and the healing will be more the great when your damaged

MasterBountyHunter MasterDoctor ~ This temp isnt that great with jedi as the other 2 but it is great w/ buffs and such i found it useful when fighting npc targets, it also has fairly decent defence

(this isnt all the templates possible but these are the ones ive tried so far if you have any youd like me to add plz post and tell me what has worked and give me the reasons why its good for whatever reason thanks)

MasterBountyHunter Master Carbineer 4xxx Combat Medic ~ I havent tried this temp myself but im guessing it has nice speed and acc. for the carbine ideal for if your planning to use the Proton Carbine as your main weapon. (provided by Ionbru)

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Rifleman, Combat Medic 4xxx - Gives you the ability to sneak and snipe, Sniper shot for a powerful first hit, good mods if you plan to use a rifle, plus Startle Shot to be really annoying

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Pistoleer, Combat Medic 4xxx - Adv Stopping Shot, Disarm, good defs, and mods for Pistol use

You also have the MBH/MCM temps

Get 4xxx Rifles if you use a rifle, gives you headshot and sniper, and some good rifle mods

Get x4xx Carbines if you use carbines, gives you leg shot, a snare, and the best accuracy

Get xxx4 Pistols or 4xxx Pistols, pretty much the same reason

Some people have even gone with MBH/MSmug, though it lacks the healing so I dont advise it against Jedi.

(thanks griffensmyth!)

You can have any ranged weapon masery with Bounty Hunter

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Rifleman, Combat Medic 4xxx - Gives you the ability to sneak and snipe, Sniper shot for a powerful first hit, good mods if you plan to use a rifle, plus Startle Shot to be really annoying

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Pistoleer, Combat Medic 4xxx - Adv Stopping Shot, Disarm, good defs, and mods for Pistol use

and the Carbine one posted.

Nice guide. If you haven't done it already, you may want to clicky it to the BH forum (I'd do it, but never figured out how lol).
