FYI ranged and melee defence are already capped at +125, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Beyond that, the CURB is such a monumental change that there's no guarantee there will even be defences as we know them currently. Either way, there's no reason you couldn't change your template just prior to or post CURB. It has been suggested that we may even get a free one-time skill point reallocation, but I wouldn't take that as gospel quite yet.

The Devs have stated that for each character, when the CURB is released on the production servers, there will be a one time ReSpec of all combat skills. It'll probably be the same system that they used when they rebuilt the Jedi profession.


This means any combat skills you have now can then be traded for other combat skills.

I've started an Alt character and I was thinking of going TKM,Master Rifleman,Fencer 4440. My question is this:


With the CURB coming I keep reading that there will be no more "defense stacking". Does this mean that the only time I"ll get the defensive abilities of a fencer is when I'm using a fencing weapon? For instance, this character would have Ranged Defense of +186 and Melee defense of +171 currently. After the CURB does much of this defense go away?


I've finished the TKM portion but haven't started yet on the Rifleman/Fencer part. I'm just wondering if I should hold off or re-think based on what's coming up?


BTW, I'm the kind of player that likes to just play the game and I don't really sit around and worry about what's going to happen with the CURB- I"m sure I'll just adjust and move to whatever's new. However, I don't want to go in a direction with my Alt that's a complete waste of time if it won't look anything like what I"m envisioning now after the CURB.


Any help would be great!

If you are just doing it for fun then have at it. No one really knows what will happen in the CURB other than the fact that things will change. Personally I dont think master profs before the CURB are going to be any less fun/viable. Maybe stacking will be out the window, in essence they are balancing everything. So, every prof may change but they will hopefully be effective in their own ways.
