Anybody care to explain why they changed the starting city to whatever you want again???

I remember they changed the starting city to Mos eisly ( or was it espa?? one of those mos's) because the game new comers were slowing down and they wanted to put all newbies in one spot so they can help each other and hang out level together and all that.

Which by the way was a Great idea that city on tatooine was a bustling city again you could go in there and find Entertainers and people healing wounds and not tumblers and lots of nice people and you could recruit them into your guild or do whatever it was just good to see the game have life again.

Now Newbies are back to starting out by themselves on wherever they choose and if they choose Rori Or Talus city well there gonna be awfully alone when they load up.

I just seem to think it was better for the game and kept people in the game when you stuck the newer people out in one area so they will enjoy themselves better and have people at or around there own level to go adventureing with. I started when this game was launched so everybody was at the same level and i remembered haveing many good times that way and think these newer folks are missiong out on that.

The reason is called JTL.

You can now start in a city where you find a pilot trainer: Mos Espa, Mos Eisley, Bestine, Theed, Kaadara, Moenia, Coronet, Kor Vella and the Imperial Outpost on Talus. It's easier for new players to find their pilot trainer that way.

I have to agree with this post - when i started i was in korvella (i think)and the first thing i thought was - where are all the people? Luckily i found someone after about 5-7 mins who said go to coronet. and off i went - the rest is history.

*sigh* I remember the good old days when I was a noob in Keren.

.....and there were people there too.

It was about a week before I made that looooong run over to Theed, decided it was too big and ran back to Keren.

Happy days.

yes and of course back then Moenia was just as heavily populated as Theed and Rori Rebel Outpost always had atleast 40 people at it at all times grinding Faction points.

Point is the even though JTL is there i think people without JTL should start off in Tatooine City of Mos eisly, or atleast JTL people should have to start off at that location and given a Free ticket to another point in there destination they wish to go 2 for JTL.

But i guess older members who just want another character on another server that could get annoying but oh well it would be better for the game in the long run.

I'll have to agree, Mos Eisley was a very good place for newbies to start, it was where I've started all my characters with the exception of 1 in Mos Entha. Tatooine is a great place to start out firstly because when you load in for the first time and a place like Mos Eisley which was in the movies it kind of just made me smile. Although they aren't exact replicas or anything, these places are good for starting out, and I would encourage all new players to start there.

Just the other day I saw what appeared to be about 3 new characters at one of the static spawns in Eisley killing swoopers with cdef weapons, healing each other as they needed it, laughing and having a good time. I miss the days when you see a group of people helping each other out over something most of us can one shot. Servers like Bria, Eisley is usually packed full of people, newer players and long time veterans, on Sunrunner however....your lucky if you see 5 people at all.

Just imagine if someday they added more then just the Rebel and Imperial factions......not to go off-topic of this post, but I think I wouldn't mind joining a Valarian faction and hanging out at the Lucky Despot and warring against other's in the Jabba faction
