Thread: Question about skills and Jedi

1.) Do melee defense and ranged defense cap at 125, or can they go higher with appreciable effect?


2.) Do Jedi use Dodge, Block, or Counterattack with a lightsaber equipped, or are these mods not useful to a Jedi?

I believe that Dodge is a generic skill that applies to anyone. Hence, pikatta pie and air cakeboth are dodge-enhancing foods... Hope this helps...

Actually this isn't quite correct.


Jedi cannot use Block, Dodge or Counterattack. The only skill they have is saberblock, which is different from block and only effective towards ranged attacks. In order to have block, dodge or counterattack you must have the skills and the weapon equipped that grants you those skills.(e.g. if you are a fencer/pistoleer you will need either a fencer or pistoleer weapon equipped to garner the benefits of your +125 dodge, yes it's higher but it caps at 125).


Also, Center of Being enhances those modifiers for a variable duration, depending on your level and skills.


As far as dodge food, it's on a seperate TO-HIT modifier then the dodge you are familiar with. Dodge food will determine first whether an attack comes through or not, then it will get to your primary defenses (ranged, melee defense) and then your secondary defenses (block, dodge, counterattack, etc). The dodge food does NOT enhance your secondary defenses. It's a seperate modifier entirely.

which baffles me how they can block a flamethrower....*slaps the dev who tought of that*

Thank you very much for providing a clear answer to the Jedi question concerning block, dodge, etc.


Now, does anyone know if the primary defenses - melee/ranged defense - are or are not capped at 125? Thank you.

every skill in game is capped at 125... u can go over but thats a waste because it doesnt count or help you in any way
